The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Grounds Team at Farington Cricket Facility, supporting the preparation and maintenance of high-quality playing and practice surfaces. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will assist in all aspects of cricket groundsmanship, including pitch preparation, outfield care, and general facility upkeep, ensuring surfaces are safe, consistent, and match-ready. The role offers valuable hands-on experience in a professional sporting environment, making it ideal for someone with a passion for outdoor work and a keen interest in developing their skills within grounds management.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will support the delivery of high-quality playing surfaces by ensuring the Club’s cricket facilities are maintained and presented to the highest possible standards, assisting with all aspects of ground preparation and renovation including deploying rain covers, mowing, rolling, marking out, and operating pedestrian and ride-on machinery. You will also carry out routine maintenance of equipment, follow and uphold the Club’s Health and Safety policies at all times, and undertake a range of general duties consistent with the preparation and upkeep of cricket grounds.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of two years’ experience within grounds maintenance or a similar sporting environment
- A strong commitment to delivering work to the highest possible standards
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to show initiative and work with self-motivation
- Proven ability to complete tasks efficiently and to a consistently high standard
- A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and some unsociable hours
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
