This role will help lead their operations, provide leadership and support staff, and contribute to the continued growth of the venue and private hire business. This will be in addition to the regular day-to-day management requirements of a very busy cinema.
The Prince Charles Cinema invite CV’s from candidates who have a proven track record of managing a venue with a strong history of training and managing staff. The ideal candidate would also have experience managing Health & Safety within an entertainment venue.
This role is primarily a two-day-per-week position, typically worked Monday to Friday. However, flexibility is essential, as occasional evening and weekend work will be required, particularly when providing cover for Duty Managers. It is anticipated that the role would result in two days work, 16hrs working at the venue. On occasion and with the agreement of the General Manager there might be a need to work more hours which would be fully payable.
Person Specification
- Must have experience of Senior Management in the hospitality or leisure business.
- Must have a proven track record that can be confirmed by references.
- History of working with POS systems (i.e. Tapos).
- Used to working to budgets and P&L’s.
- Strong personnel skills. Making improvements to the team with good hiring, training and constant communication.
- Good knowledge in Health & Safety Requirements.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Strategic thinker.
- A keen attention to detail is imperative to this role.
- Accomplished customer service skills.
- Does not mind working unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
Main Responsibilities
- The AG Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the cinema on a day-to-day basis by supporting the Duty Manager Team.
- They are responsible for the comfort, safety and enjoyment of the customers and maintaining high standards of customer care through the supervision and motivation of staff.
- They are responsible for ensuring that all legal and licensing requirements are met and for the security of the cinema.
- Additionally, you are responsible for carrying out administrative duties as requested by the General Manager, such as overseeing the upkeep of all Health & Safety matters for the venue.
- The AGM must be responsible, reliable, and self-motivated. You should be professional and have the highest standards of integrity and conduct in all matters concerning the company.
- The AGM should have a smart, neat appearance and present a professional image of the cinema.
Specific duties of the role include:
- Line managing the Personnel Manager to provide a well-informed, well-trained, and highly motivated staff to carry out duties in the venue.
- Dealing with customer enquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
- Ensuring that all licensing regulations pertaining to the premises license and the alcohol are strictly adhered to.
- Ensuring that all Health & Safety regulations are adhered to.
- Developing the Private Hire business within the company. Involves meeting clients assisting with setting up events, stage managing and full administration including invoicing.
- Leading and developing an informed Duty Management team.
- Duty Manager cover.
- Contractor management for the venue.
- Checking programme schedules.
- Keeping strong communication links open with employees and with the owners of the company. This is a key role, so good professional communication standards are required.
- Assisting the Box Office Manager with developing the Box Office system, so it works for the venue and customers.
- Assisting with customer communications.
- Being a venue point of contact for our accounts team to assist with any queries.
- Assisting with business performance figures, monitoring and reacting to improve sales and customer experience.
- Assisting the GM in coming up with positive ideas and plans to improve and grow the business.
