Assistant Coaches

Roles available are:
- Men's 2nd Team Assistant Coach
- Men's 4th Team Assistant Coach
- Women's 1st Team Assistant Coach
- Women's 2nd Team Assistant Coach
- Women's 3rd Team Head Coach
- Women's 3rd Team Assistant Coach
This role will be to assist the coaching sessions for training nights on their relevant team, while working closely with the Head Coach of their team and the Head Coach of Football on the philosophy and ensuring that all areas are covered throughout training blocks. They will work to deliver these sessions as part of their role and will work closely with the other coaches to challenge thinking and prepare the squad for the upcoming fixtures.
During training, the job holder is responsible for developing and delivering set piece work to be as effective as possible from dead ball situations on match day defensively and offensively. The job holder will also be able to support the selection of squads (Monday prior to training) for all teams for match days. To achieve this, they should be invested in the whole programme and looking to support movement of players from their squad upwards, as well as having strong knowledge of players in the lower squads to give opportunities at the right times with data based decisions.
On match days, (Wednesday afternoons) this person will be the Assistant Coach their relevant team. They will be relied upon by the Head Coach on the match day to be preparing and delivering sufficient warm ups, and if need be with context speaking to players around individual roles and is required for the specific fixture. Post games, they will work with the Administrative Coordinators, to input all data from the game (player minutes, player ratings, goals, assists, cards).
Job Responsibilities:
● To understand session plans in advance to training, ensuring they are linking to the playing philosophy / game model.
● To support individual player development and supporting Head Coach of Football with individual player conversations where appropriate.
● To support a positive coaching environment where all players are engaged and involved during each session, linking to the philosophy / game model.
● To be aware of players in the squads below in order to consider which players could be accelerated in their development through training invitations and match day opportunities.
● To work with the Admin Team with info regarding training register, player minutes, match day stats etc so this can be collated into Sheets on the Google Drive for the 2’s to aid selection and promotion decisions.
● To attend Squad Selection Coaches Meetings on Monday 20:00.
● To plan and deliver set piece work to the team, working with their reverent team’s Head Coach and the Head Coach of Football to create these.
