Summary of the Role
The Application Scientist (Hybrid) is a full-time, field-based role accountable for growing and protecting Lhasa Limited’s membership across India. The role combines scientific application support with commercial responsibility: the successful candidate will build trusted relationships with member scientists, deliver site visits and on-site training, and lead the renewal and growth conversations that protect and expand Lhasa Limited’s presence in the Indian market. This is a fully remote, India-based role.

Main Responsibilities
- Deliver regular site visits and on-site training across the Indian member base
- Take ownership of member retention across the Indian market, with particular focus on protecting and growing engagement with our members.
- Take ownership of the external events in India, including their planning and delivery
- Proactively promote Lhasa Limited’s in-silico solutions through scientific communication, such as workshops, exhibitions and conferences across India
- Become the primary point of contact for the market
- Develop a solid understanding of all Lhasa solutions, identifying through this understanding where our solutions can support members’ workflows
- Build strong, lasting relationships with members and become a trusted scientific expert in the application of Lhasa’s solutions
- Communicate the value of Lhasa Limited’s in-silico solutions through training, site visits and, where appropriate, scientific publications and conference presentations
About You
- Previous experience within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry, including hands-on chemistry laboratory experience supporting credibility with member scientists (essential)
- Skilled negotiator, able to secure favourable outcomes in high-value commercial discussions (essential)
- Willingness to travel extensively and regularly across India, and internationally as required (essential)
- An undergraduate degree, master’s or PhD in a relevant chemistry or toxicology-related discipline (essential)
- A background in mutagenicity or impurity assessment (preferred)
- Expert scientific communicator who understands members’ needs and can confidently demonstrate Lhasa Limited’s solutions
- Understanding of chemical structures and the application of in silico predictions
- Proactive, solution-focused and confident working independently as well as in a team
- Interpersonal skills and sensitivity to cultural differences
- Able to understand and communicate confidently in English
