ADMISSIONS OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Admissions Officer
Responsible to: Head of Admissions & Outreach
Main Purpose:
The Admissions Officer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of an outstanding admissions and family experience across Sedbergh School and Sedbergh Prep School.
Working as part of a collaborative and fast-paced admissions team, the postholder will provide high-quality administrative and organisational support across all aspects of the admissions process, ensuring prospective families receive a warm, professional and highly personalised experience from first enquiry through to enrolment.
The role will support the planning and delivery of individual family visits, open days, outreach activity and recruitment events, whilst ensuring efficient administration of applications, offers, scholarships and admissions communications.
The Admissions Officer will act as an ambassador for Sedbergh at all times, demonstrating excellent customer service, strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Admissions Administration
• Support the day-to-day administration of the admissions process across Sedbergh School and Sedbergh Prep School.
• Process domestic and international enquiries, registrations, offers and acceptances efficiently and accurately.
• Prepare and issue offer letters, admissions documentation and joining information.
• Assist with the administration and coordination of scholarship and bursary applications.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the School’s CRM and admissions systems.
• Ensure all admissions communications are timely, professional and aligned with the School’s values and brand.
Work closely with the overseas registrar to ensure agent contracts are up-to-date and references are obtained
Visitor Experience & Family Visits
• Organise and coordinate individual family visits, taster days and boarding experiences.
• Liaise with boarding houses, academic departments and key staff to ensure smooth visit schedules and exceptional visitor experiences.
Prepare itineraries and visitor materials for prospective families.
Events & Outreach Support
• Issue invitations and manage responses for admissions events and outreach activity.
• Assist with the organisation of UK and international recruitment activity where required.
Coordinate event materials, attendee lists and follow-up communications.
Family Experience & Communication
• Act as a first point of contact for prospective families, responding to enquiries by telephone, email and in person.
Deliver excellent customer service throughout the admissions journey.
• Support proactive follow-up activity to maximise conversion and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with families, agents, feeder schools and educational partners.
Health and Safety:
