This may occasionally include evening and weekend working to enable people to attend social events, clubs, performances, sporting activities, celebrations or other experiences that are important to them.

At MacIntyre, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live a gloriously ordinary life – a life filled with friendship, purpose, choice, contribution and belonging.

Through our Everyone Everywhere approach, we work alongside people with learning disabilities and autistic people to build meaningful relationships, discover opportunities and take part in the people, places and activities that matter most to them.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, creative and relationship-focused Activity Support Worker to join our team in London. This is a unique role for someone who is passionate about people, inclusion and making things happen.

If you are someone who sees possibilities, enjoys bringing people together and believes everyone has something valuable to contribute, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

This role is all about people, relationships and belonging.

Working as part of our Everyone Everywhere initiative, you'll support people with learning disabilities and autistic people to identify what matters to them and help turn those aspirations into reality. Whether that's joining a club, volunteering, making new friends, learning a new skill or pursuing a long-held interest, you'll work alongside people to make meaningful connections happen.

You'll also play an important role in helping local people, groups and organisations become more welcoming and inclusive. By building positive relationships and opening doors to new opportunities, you'll help ensure people are recognised for their strengths, valued for who they are and able to contribute in ways that are meaningful to them.

Working alongside a colleague with lived experience, you'll be part of a team that helps create opportunities, strengthen connections and support people to live rich and fulfilling lives.

The role also involves regular travel using a variety of methods, including cars, minibuses, public transport and walking. A full UK driving licence is essential, as you'll be required to drive the vehicles of the people we support and, where appropriate, service vehicles. Full training and support will be provided.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building Relationships
  • Growing Connections
  • Creating Opportunities
  • Working Together

Essential Requirements

  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Be willing and able to drive the vehicles of the people we support and, where appropriate, service vehicles.
  • Be willing and physically able to support people with mobility needs, including pushing wheelchairs where required.
  • Feel comfortable working across a range of settings and travelling between locations.
  • Be flexible in your approach to working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Experience in social care, community development, youth work, education, voluntary services, customer service or similar people-focused roles would be beneficial. However, what matters most is your values, attitude and commitment to helping people build good lives. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Much of your time will be spent alongside people in their everyday lives, helping them build relationships, pursue their interests and access opportunities that reflect their goals, strengths and aspirations.

At MacIntyre, we believe people should have the same opportunities as anyone else to enjoy relationships, interests and experiences that bring meaning and enjoyment to their lives. This role plays an important part in making those opportunities possible.
