Accommodation & Housing Worker - Pearl House

Hours of Work:  Average of 37.5 hours per week – following a 7 week rolling rota including a cover week and sleep-ins. Sleep-ins are paid at £108.03 per shift. Full rota is outlined in the documents below.

Project Description

You will support, through a trauma informed approach, 15 clients with complex needs for up to 6 months prior to move on. We have male and female clients from 16 years and upwards. Support will include, benefits, budgeting, move on housing options, safeguarding, domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, long term homelessness , family/relationship breakdown and living skills. You will have a case load of clients, you will also deal with any needs of our residents when they arise. You will need a non judgemental approach, empathy, tolerance and a willingness to try different approaches to engage our clients. You will need to think and act quickly and use your initiative. Purpose of Role

To coordinate and provide residential support that enables and empowers Service Users to address housing and/or personal difficulties, build their skills and confidence, and ultimately improve their ability to maintain their future accommodation. The support will not create or increase dependence. It will ‘do with’ rather than ‘do for’, so it’s likely that support will involve accompanying Service Users initially, in order to familiarise them with an activity or appointment. Support will help people improve their control, understanding and involvement in dealing with the issues that affect them, and assist Service Users to achieve their preferred outcomes. In addition, to meet the housing management needs of the project ensuring the delivery of a safe, secure and effective service.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
