Choir Accompanist
Canbury Singers
Canbury Singers (registered charity 1182027) is a community based choir in Kingston-Upon-Thames. Formed in 2007, as part of the Canbury Arts Trust, by a small group of locals who just wanted to sing, the choir has grown into a 40 strong group of enthusiastic and dedicated singers with a good reputation. Canbury Singers is an affiliated member of Making Music.
We are a friendly, fun loving choir without an audition process comprising a range of members from sight readers to those re-starting singing after some years. We meet on a Monday night (8:15pm-9.45pm) and look to perform two concerts a year together with a few charity and Christmas events including two socials. Members have an eclectic musical interest ranging from choral, religious and secular to jazz and stage musical genres, taking in African-American spirituals, European folk songs and sea shanties along the way. The choir is managed by an active committee who work closely with their Musical Director, Bethan Williams, on repertoire and performance planning.
Responsibilities of the Accompanist
The accompanist would work closely with the Musical Director, Bethan Williams, and assist Bethan in rehearsals by accompanying the choir and taking sectionals when required. They are expected to attend all rehearsals, and to coordinate deputies when necessary. The successful candidate may be invited to take part in Canbury Singers concerts as and when needed, with renumeration at the standard rate (please see below).
Person specification
The successful candidate will be an excellent musician who can demonstrate:
• Accompaniment from piano reduction and standard accompaniment parts proficiently in a sympathetic manner
• An excellent standard of sight-reading
• Support for the choir by score-reading vocal parts

Role Profile
• Support the scheduling of operative and sub-contract resource to ensure effective re-source management, delivery of a customer focused repairs service and that performance targets are met / achieved.

As a Research Associate at the Franklin, you will bring scientific knowledge and skills to deliver a specific research project and/or you will bring independent, creative science, or specific skills to a team delivering a project or program. Through this work, you will build scientific independence, develop new science and leadership skills, and establish a growing reputation externally.
The successful candidate will exploit advanced cryogenic correlative imaging approaches to dissect the molecular, structural, and biophysical mechanisms governing HIV maturation and early entry. In collaboration with the group of Sergi Padilla at Kings College, you will combine time-resolved FLIM/FRET measurements employing custom-engineered biosensors with cryo-electron tomography and high-resolution structural analysis to resolve dynamic conformational and assembly processes during viral maturation, thereby delivering new mechanistic insights into HIV infectivity. The direction of the project will be to push this nascent correlative technique into the cell, potentially into tissues, to enable lifetime-based correlation of features within the cell.
Key Responsibilities
As a Research Associate you will:
- * Scientifically lead the understanding of molecular mechanism by which HIV mature before entry.
- * Develop novel correlative methods for cryogenic workflows.
- * Plan and conduct experiments, analyse and interpret results and supervised delivery of outputs (e.g. research reports, patent applications) in a scientific area of interest.
- * Work within a project team, contributing to wider projects around Franklin’s key Challenges.
- * Lead major contributions to outputs from research including papers, patents and both internal and external presentations.
- * Support and develop others including day-to-day supervision of students or visitors in areas related to own research.
- * Have supervised, staged progression to first stages of scientific independence with opportunities to further develop science and your skills/experience.

Position Overview:
The Library Coach (LBC) will be responsible for supporting and coaching teachers, librarians, and principals to adopt new ways of working with children to increase their habit of reading and for setting up and ensuring a highly functioning library. They will report to the Sr. Literacy Program Operations Officer/Literacy Program Operations Officer/Literacy Program Operations Associate and will not have any direct reports. This position is based at a project location (Thane District, Mira Road).
Responsibilities:

Develop a thorough understanding of Room to Read’s Literacy program design

Manage, monitor and support library program intervention across assigned project schools and ensure adherence to the program design.

Provide support and conduct teachers training.

Write monthly reports to supervisor on program implementation.

Provide reflective feedback on program design and implementation (especially with respect to progress towards outcomes) and demonstrate a solution-oriented approach

Undertake school visits every day, except for days when on official travel and leave.

Support the initial set up of the library, including site verification (if necessary), organizing community meetings, raising requisition and coordinating delivery of furniture, books and stationery.
