The June Givanni Pan-African Cinema Archive and Afrika Eye Flm Festival have partnered to deliver Curating with Pan-African Cinema Archives, an eight-week paid traineeship for three people delivered in collaboration with the University of Bristol Film & TV Department, the Arnolfini and Watershed’s Pervasive Media Studio.
The June Givanni Pan-African Cinema Archive (JGPACA) was set up officially in 2013, and is a living archive that preserves and values the history of Black cinema globally. At its core is the interest of Pan-African cinema and its relationship with Black British cinema and culture.
About the traineeships
The traineeships will run with weekly sessions from Wednesday 4 March to Wednesday 22 April 2026 with an opportunity to collaborate on a film archive exhibition.
Afrika Eye and the JGPACA welcome applicants of Black heritage with a curiosity and interest in learning about Pan-African cinema.
You do not need to have work experience or any formal training in film or archive curation but should have a keen interest in film and an enthusiasm to learn.
Trainees will have an opportunity to:
- Deepen their understanding of film curation through a structured programme and archival exploration
- Engage critically with materials from JGPACA, considering curatorial responsibility, diasporic memory, historical context and the politics of representation
- Research, reflect and share how a programme might be curated within a specific cultural context, touching on themes, ideas and objects
- Explore setting a screening within a wider arts context (using music, photography, dance etc) and examine how this might offer an enhanced experience and develop audience engagement
- Carry out a research task exploring local subject material might offer specific curatorial opportunities (stories, photography, short films, museum collections).
As well as workshop sessions, trainees will have opportunities to:
- Watch and research Pan-African cinema tailored to their interests
- Attend local events to enhance their learning
- Read relevant books and resources
- Create their own film event based on their learning

Trainee bursary
Each trainee will be allocated a bursary of £784, inclusive of tax. There are no travel or other expenses included, but trainees will be provided with learning resources.
This bursary is based on a £14 per hour hourly rate, for 56 hours over the eight weeks. The total learning hours in the weekly sessions will be 27 hours, with a remaining 29 hours to contribute towards optional weekly film screenings, local event attendance and creation of a final exhibit.

To support the assessment, planning, consistent implementation and evaluation of high standards of personalised nursing care or therapy for an identified group of service users under the direction of a registered professional.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To support the assessment, planning, and consistent implementation and evaluation of individualised health care for an identified group of service users within scope of competency/practice or under the direction of the registered professional, liaising and working collaboratively with the multi disciplinary team to deliver high quality care to service users.
- To maintain high standards of care delivery by working within assessed areas of competency, following national clinical guidelines and Brainkind policies and procedures. Challenging practice as appropriate and supporting junior and new staff
- To ensure continuity of patient care by communicating and liaising with nurses, therapists and other colleagues, providing accurate and timely reports of any changes in the condition of the resident
- To promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the patient/resident and carer experience and enabling concerns and complaints to be raised freely by all involved in the service. To support and promote service user participation to enable them to have their views and experiences taken into account in the way care is provided and delivered
- To promote an organisational culture where staff are empowered to challenge inappropriate behaviour and unsafe practice using appropriate organisational processes via line manager or by using our internal whistle blowing policy
- Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally taking on reasonable additional tasks
ABOUT YOU:
- Level 5 Foundation Degree in Assistant Practitioner (Healthcare)
- Experience of working in healthcare and desirable experience of working in specialist service i.e. Neuro/Palliative
- Experience of working within a clinical setting
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and its impact on current practice
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills¬ and able to build effective working relationships with both clients and colleagues
- An ability to respond to people in distress

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Wigs, Hair and Make-up Professional to share in the training of our technical theatre students and to participate in the preparation of the public shows at RADA.
The successful applicant will be involved with running some teaching sessions with the Technical and Stage Management Foundation Degree and Degree course, Post Graduate Costume Course and the BA Acting Courses.
The successful applicant will be required to liaise with the Costume Designer and Director of the RADA public shows to create the hair and make up and realise them in hair and make-up calls. They will also Supervise the preparation of the looks, and discuss how they are achieved, within budget and other restraints, with advice and training given in the evening preparation.
Other linear sessions could be carried out, in discussion with the Head of Costume, such as basic hair and make up skills, FX make up and possibly wig knotting.
Experience in Hair and make-up within a theatre setting is essential, with a high level of skill in styling and maintaining Afro and textured hair, as well as straight hair.
The hours are varied and includes evening and weekend. We endeavour to allow the RADA hours to give time for outside work or time away.
The role requires a committed, self-motivated person who works well in a team and can lead diplomatically, confidently and with care and attention to furthering RADA’s goals of creating dedicated, confident and skilled Theatre Professionals.

This is a three-year post. The stipend is at incumbent level and appropriate housing will be provided by the PCC.
The Incumbent and PCC are looking for a male presbyter secure in the complementarian Evangelical tradition, able to assent to the theological principles inhabited by the Manchester Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship and the Church of England Evangelical Council. He should be enthusiastic about developing the diversity of the church, committed to leading them in mission and growth and developing work with children, young people and families in school and in church.
He will
