ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Support Workers make a real difference to our residents every day; whether it’s helping them with their daily routines or personal care, providing companionship or joining in with the vast array of fun activities that take place in our homes, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring they are leading happy and fulfilled lives. You’ll also carry out light household duties to ensure that the household and resident’s rooms are kept clean and tidy, involving them where it’s appropriate to do so. You’ll understand that some days might be challenging, but you’ll also laugh, have fun and make lasting memories with our residents.

ABOUT YOU
Ideally with, or willing to work towards, a Diploma/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), you’ll have a proven track record in elderly care and a commitment to providing high quality care standards for older people.
You’ll be a positive role model, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to get along with others. Volunteer Complementary Therapist – Mentoring Programme (for those qualified less than 12 months) – Massage Therapist Our core mission is to improve the lives of anyone affected by cancer, including those with a diagnosis, carers, family members and bereaved relatives, by enhancing emotional, psychological and physical well-being. The Mulberry Centre is an award-winning charity which relies heavily on donations from individuals and organisations to support people through their cancer journey from diagnosis, through treatment and then post-discharge. We help them to start rebuilding their lives and promote self-management. We also support carers and family members to deal with these changes and bereaved relatives. We do this by providing counselling, complementary therapies, wellbeing classes, and supporting information, tailored to the needs of our users at, and around, our purpose-built centre in Isleworth. Our services are free of charge, but donations are always welcome. The Mulberry Centre Volunteer Mentoring Programme The Mulberry Centre has recently launched an exciting Volunteer Mentoring Programme. This will enable newly qualified therapists who do not yet have a full one-year practical experience but are fully qualified and insured, the opportunity to join our team of volunteers. When accepted to join this programme, you will be assessed through a minimum of 5 “cancer patients” case studies in which you will be guided through specific cancer care initial consultation, contraindications, treatment adaptation, additional techniques, body mechanics, cross contamination, and Health & Safety for complementary therapies. On successful completion of the 5 cancer case studies, you will be ready to start seeing Mulberry Centre clients, starting with Carers and Bereaved. During this time, you will be continued to be supported regularly for 4 more weeks. The mentoring programme is not an oncology massage qualification, but it does count towards points for your Continued Professional Development allowing you to volunteer with us immediately after completing the programme. This programme equates to £1000 of training and support therefore we expect those participating to commit to a minimum term of volunteering, 6 months weekly or 12 months fortnightly, otherwise we reserve the right to invoice for the costs. Our Volunteer Complementary Therapists provide complementary therapies for people with a diagnosis of cancer, their carers and bereaved. Therapies offered are recognised as having positive benefits and are given with the aim of relieving stress related symptoms and encourage relaxation. Time commitment: 2 to 3 hours, weekly or fortnightly. Volunteer Specification The Mulberry Centre is committed to providing the highest quality of care and therapists are expected to: ▪ Have studied and qualified at a recognised college/school (ITEC equivalent). ▪ Be a member of CNHC. ▪ Have personal, professional indemnity insurance. ▪ Consider, or be undertaking, further professional development. ▪ Must not have had personal experience of cancer (either themselves or a close family member) or have been bereaved within the preceding two years. ▪ All therapists must have or be eligible for registration with CNHC. Support and Education • You will be provided with an induction covering the objective of the role, the work of The Mulberry Centre, and its procedures and policies relevant for your volunteering role. • We will do our best to assist your volunteering role with us. This will include evaluation sessions and keeping you updated with all the relevant information on what support The Mulberry Centre offers. The mentoring programme will provide assessment through a minimum of 5 ‘cancer patients’. If accepted as a volunteer there will be an initial 3 months, then a six-monthly and annual review with your Lead. This is a way of monitoring and supporting each other and is informal and confidential. • • Expenses are reimbursed for travel incurred to carry out your volunteering duties. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering daily group work and building meaningful, long-term therapeutic relationships. Residents can remain within the Therapeutic Community for up to 12 months, giving you the opportunity to support sustained recovery, personal growth, and lasting change.
You will play a key role in facilitating engaging, structured group sessions while supporting residents throughout their recovery journey.
Key responsibilities include:

What You’ll Be Doing:
Response are recruiting for a Homeless Support Worker within Adult Services, Settled Oxfordshire, to help people who have had experiences of street homelessness, and repeated placements within supported and crisis housing services to sustain their own tenancy, live independently, and move-on into mainstream accommodation. Working closely in partnership with a range of other providers, both voluntary and statutory, you will have the support and guidance of the Service Manager to provide a housing management, support and move-on service to a small group of vulnerable people who have recently experienced homelessness. The accommodation will be located within Oxford City and throughout the County. Overall job responsibility:
Some of the core duties include:
- To provide an intensive support and housing management service to a caseload of 9 or 10 clients through proactive floating support.
- To ensure that each client has a comprehensive support plan with achievable goals and outcomes and a robust risk assessment and that both documents will be updated regularly with input of client and other professionals delivering support interventions.
- To provide person centred support to the clients and recognise that they are experts by experience.
- To work with each successful referral to identify interventions that will allow the client to move into the accommodation, sustain their home, and identify and plan for the factors/ challenges that might destabilise their tenancy.
- Supporting clients with benefit applications, affordability assessments and repayment plans.
- To conduct regular visit to the accommodation and support the clients with practical skills such as budgeting, cleaning, etc
- To ensure that the clients will engage with agencies providing support with addressing needs such as substance misuse, offending, accessing education, employment and training.
- To ensure that clients are encouraged to engage in meaningful activities.
- To ensure that the properties are safe and compliant with Health and Safety regulations
- To ensure that internal and external stakeholders and partnership agencies are informed about progress of each client.
- Provide a housing management service for the clients, including dealing with rent arrears, managing anti-social behaviour, dealing with other breaches of the tenancy agreement, serving notices and reporting and ordering any repairs.
- Be aware of early signs of abuse, potential safeguarding and ensure that reporting procedures are followed when Safeguarding is triggered.
- To provide regular reports on the progress of each case.
- To support the client with understanding their move on options and create a realistic move on plan for each client including increasing living skills, preparing for and finding work, move on, budgeting, substance misuse and much more.

The Pastor-in-Training role is created under the conviction that the local church is the primary training ground for pastors. Seminary studies are important in order to prepare a trainee pastor for a lifetime of ministry, but growing in character, conviction and competency in preparation for shepherding a local
church is learned in the local church.
The Pastor-in-Training is a learner and as such you will:
- Serve alongside experienced pastors, learning through modelling, observation, and practical ministry.
- Lead in a specific ministry area, gaining hands-on leadership experience in a real church context under supervision.
- Grow through regular discipleship, receiving encouragement, correction, and guidance.
- Teach the Bible in appropriate settings, developing clarity, conviction, and confidence.

Sutton Mental Health Foundation Background to the Sutton Crisis Café service Sutton Crisis Café is a new service offering out-of-hours support to people in mental health crisis as an alternative to attending A&E. It has two main aims; to benefit people experiencing a mild to moderate mental health crisis by providing a safe, non-clinical supportive environment for them to use, and to reduce demands upon hospital emergency departments and other mental health and emergency services by providing a safe alternative to those services. Sutton is one of the few areas locally without any alternative crisis provision to A&E, although it has been something local people have been working towards for some time. Through consultation and co-production we have shown that there is widespread support for our Crisis Café model across all sectors, from people who use mental health services locally to carers, clinicians and commissioners. The key objectives of the service are to: • Provide a non-stigmatising, calm and safe environment • Provide support to help people resolve their crisis • Provide practical and emotional support to enable the person to better self- manage their distress, aid their recovery, and reduce dependency • Ensure that support staff, peer supporters and volunteers are trained, supported and professional in their approach • Operate as an alternative to Emergency Departments and other emergency services for people experiencing a mental health crisis that does not require medical intervention Link with wider services to ensure a joined-up partnership approach to the development of local services • The service will provide immediate, focused and time-limited emotional and practical support to people experiencing a mental health crisis that does not require clinical input. It will work with people experiencing a range of different distress, including psychosis. The support will consist of: • • • • identifying coping strategies and improving wellbeing information and signposting conversations, group conversations and activities limited follow-up We expect to run the service in the evenings, Monday-Sunday. The service will be open every day of the year. Our model is a partnership approach between voluntary and statutory sector professionals and trained Intentional Peer Support workers and volunteers. Those attending the café should feel heard, understood and listened to and have trust in those they have spoken with. They will also have the opportunity to share the company of others in larger groups where they can talk or undertake quiet activities, such as board games. The service will provide informal peer support and buddying so those attending the café can benefit from other people’s knowledge and understanding of the emotional and practical challenges faced by people experiencing mental ill health.
