What is the role?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Coordinator (Domestic Abuse). This is a 35 hours per week, 2 year fixed-term contract until 31st March 2028. Working week will be between the following days and hours:
- Monday - Friday between 8am - 8pm & Saturdays 10am - 4pm
Salary band: £27,598 - £36,445. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
Primary location: Moray House, 16-18 Bank Street, Inverness, IV1 1QY. You will be expected to cover Inverness and throughout the Highlands and Islands locality.
Through this post VSS and Whole Family Wellbeing Programme aim to close a recognised gap in Highland’s domestic abuse services by providing inclusive support for all victim-survivors, including male and trans victim-survivors, as well as family members and witnesses where appropriate.
Reporting directly to a Locality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring, within your Service(s), that VSS’s Male and Transgender domestic violence project development and delivery plan is being implemented within your geographical area(s).
Service delivery is provided by a team of skilled and knowledgeable volunteers, you will be responsible for planning their deployment to ensure that the service delivered meets the desired outcomes of victims and witnesses of crime, our service users. You will be expected to carry a small case load.
Responsible for all aspects of a volunteer engagement with VSS at your services, including recruitment, induction, learning and development, ongoing performance management and support for volunteers that provide domestic violence support to male and transgender individuals.
Contributing to business planning and co-ordination ensuring that continuous learning takes place to monitor that the outcomes of service users are being met.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Senior Practitioner is a member of the operational management team with responsibilities for the team and the House and must work to ensure the successful delivery of the main duties and responsibilities of the role. Senior Practitioner
Phoenix Futures have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Recovery Worker Practitioner to support people who use our service at HMP Pentonville. Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Recovery Support Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to the people that use our services.
The Role
As a Senior Practitioner, you will support people at HMP Pentonville to reach their goals and change their lives for the better. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, can work on their own initiative, but more importantly, as part of a team. You will need good communication and organisational skills. Successful candidates will be dynamic and forward thinking with keen insight into preventative and early intervention methods. The ideal candidate will have experience of line management, safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults presenting with substance, alcohol and associated issues.
You will have in-depth knowledge of recovery, care planning and relapse prevention activities. You will have line management duties and group interventions duties alongside holding a caseload of your own clients. You will develop and deliver interventions packages and will be confident in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partnership agencies to fully support the client through their recovery. About You To join us as a Senior Practitioner at HMP Pentonville, you will need:
- Relevant experience of working in health and social care, ideally within the field of problematic substance use, mental health or another comparable field
- Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service
- Evidence of managing a busy caseload or tasks and excellent organisational skills
- To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understand complex issues presented by people entering custody.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The support worker will support people in the community, with the objective of assisting
individuals’ recovery and promoting independence.
Tasks will vary from person to person but the work will always be based on a support or
recovery plan. The plan is the focus for an individual pathway to recovery, defined by the
service user, which addresses their identified personal, social, occupational, educational
unmet needs and aspirations.
To liaise and establish constructive relationships with service users, Mental Health Resource
teams, Community Mental Health Services, through DFMH activities and other agencies
involved in supporting clients.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST
• To provide one-to-one support appropriate to the service’s aims and support clients in
actioning their goals
• To deliver group support or activity sessions if required
• To alert statutory services where the need arises (ie safeguarding/ client risk) and to
liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies
• To complete and maintain client records, timesheets and other records in accordance
with DFMH policy
• To support relatives/carers when needed and signpost them on to appropriate services
• To help people to be heard by statutory agencies and in the self-help groups (if
