This new service will provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for women facing sexual exploitation and substance dependency – a place they can truly call home. Through stable, person-centred care, you'll play a vital role in empowering women to rebuild their lives and embrace brighter futures.
In this role, as a Night Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provided person centred support to our residents, working to ensure the safety and wellbeing. Our residents have experienced multiple forms of exclusion, such as historical/ongoing abuse, involvement in the criminal justice system, mental health challenges, drug and/or alcohol dependency and enduring high levels of violence and coercion. You will build trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins. Your role will focus on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
Responsibilities include:
- Holding a caseload, conducting key work sessions which are personable to resident needs
- Carry out regular welfare checks, safeguarding checks, and general living checks
- Encourage residents to take part in activities and events both within the service and the community
- Keep support plans up to date on a regular basis
- Work closely with the rest of the team to provide overall excellent service delivery, this may mean also supporting with their caseloads, and other tasks as necessary

About the role

Purpose of Role
This role is providing housing related support to the residents of Neath Port Talbot. You will coordinate and provide floating support that enables and empowers Service Users to address housing and/or personal difficulties, build their skills and confidence, and ultimately improve their ability to maintain their current or future accommodation. The support will not create or increase dependence. It will ‘do with’ rather than ‘do for’ to enable people to improve their control, understanding and involvement in dealing with the issues that affect them, and assist Service Users to achieve their preferred outcomes.

Inspiring young people is so important in our mission to protect wetlands. With around 12,000 formal learners visiting the centre each academic year, we work together to ensurethat every school group has a positive experience as they explore the site. Key to this is offering anorganised and friendly welcome and supporting the arrival and navigation of school groups, andenhancing the self-guided experience for school groups when they are not in a guided learning session.
Your role will be to assist the Learning Team with preparatory tasks in advance of school visits, greetingand briefing school groups upon arrival, engaging learners during the self-guided portion of their visit,assisting with guided learning sessions, and to tidy up resources after schools have left.
Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

Taking self-referrals from clients wanting Family Support or Domestic abuse support who at times may be distressed or in need and handling these sensitively and compassionately. To ensure that the telephone is answered promptly during office hours and messages passed on immediately. To provide advice and signposting for parents/carers, victims of Domestic Abuse and professionals. Accurately recording client and professional calls onto our database, ensuring security and confidentiality of personal and sensitive data at all times. To ensure that all callers to Southside are treated courteously, helpfully and sensitively, always being mindful of confidentiality in respect of service users. As part of the Business Support team ensure that the reception area and general office is clean, tidy, welcoming and maintained to a high standard. Dimensions is seeking Waking Night Support Workers to work alongside two other colleagues who ensure the comfort & safety of the 2 ladies and one gentleman we support, aged in their 30’s-40’s and have learning disabilities, by supporting with their night-time routines.
Shift times run from 10pm to 7am
During the evening and throughout the night Waking Night Support Workers will assist the people we support by:
- Sitting with them and having tea or cocoa
- Watching TV
- Preparing supper and winding down for the night
- Regular monitoring of the people we support
- Undertaking household tasks
The people we support would like you to know that although they do not all use words to communicate, they have other ways of letting you know what they want and need.
You do not need previous experience for this role, but it may suit nursing or paramedic students as there are delegated nursing tasks in the home.
If you don’t have previous experience of alternative communication types or delegated nursing tasks, don’t worry as Dimensions will provide all Waking Night Support Workers with full training (both theory and practical) delivered by leading professionals within their field.
