The Leicestershire Mental Health Central Access Point provides a listening ear and emotional support to a range of people within Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. The helpline supports adults and their families, who may be experiencing difficulties with managing their mental health, through telephone-based support, that explores coping mechanisms and provides information on accessible organisations and services within the local area. Professionals and other organisations are also able to contact the helpline for advice or information on working with people who may be struggling with their mental health.
Our team of dedicated Recovery Workers are on hand to provide confidential support, discuss emotional and practical issues someone might be facing, and explore strategies that may help an individual to cope with their situation.

We have full-time opportunities available; the service is available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our candidate will be working a mixture of shifts on a 24-hour rolling rota, including bank holidays, evenings, waking nights and weekends.

Role Responsibility
As a helpline recovery worker, you will be a key member of our team, providing emotional support and a listening ear to a wide range of callers.
You will use your knowledge and skills to explore issues relating to mental health and other wider social issues and signpost callers to relevant organisations. You will support callers to utilise coping strategies and offer support and guidance on learning new skills that promote wellbeing. You will be experienced in supporting individuals through emotional distress and crisis situations.
As a helpline recovery worker, you will use your ability to think on your feet to help callers manage their distress and provide crisis support where needed.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who can use their knowledge and experience to support individuals with their mental health in a compassionate and recovery focused way. With a naturally ability to make people feel calm and listened to, our candidate uses their skills to help a wide range of callers.
Ideally our candidate has experience in the mental health sector and has a proven track record of supporting individuals in distress. Excellent communication skills are essential as well as a calm and professional attitude or is experienced in working with a wide range of other organisations from statutory to third sector.

Our customers live in their own self-contained spaces—some alone, others with flatmates—and your role will be to support them in all aspects of daily life. This includes:
- One-to-one or two-to-one personalised care

We are currently recruiting for a part time (32 hours per week) Support Worker at Webster Court!
Shift work, plus sleep-ins (£43.12) on a rota basis.
Webster Court provides supported living exclusively for the over-50’s, who have enduring mental health challenges and multiple needs. A number of our thirty-two residents have either experienced homelessness, have previously been vulnerably housed or otherwise would struggle to live independently in the community.
A typical day at Webster Court is wide and varied; one minute you could be supporting a resident with their medication, the next taking part in a group social activity or meeting with health or social care professionals. We place a huge emphasis on our residents remaining as independent as possible with their daily living tasks but we’re on hand to offer support when needed.
This can include practical tasks such as preparing a meal with a resident to encouraging them to keep their flat tidy.
We’re registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide personal care to a small number of our residents, however as we’re not a traditional care environment, this is very light touch.
Working on a shift pattern with a small team of colleagues, you will be responsible for making your own decisions in supporting our residents ensuring their safety, supporting them to maintain their mental and physical well being and working as a team to deliver a person centred and high-quality service.

The Pre-School Centre at Lancaster University is looking to recruit a Support Assistant-Food .
The post is indefinite and offers a contract based on working 15 hours per week, 3 hours per day for 52 weeks of the year.

The Bridge Project is a well-established, vibrant Charity with a dedicated team providing services to a broad range of people experiencing the effects of deprivation and health inequalities. We are now looking to recruit a Young Persons Recovery Practitioner to join our One80 team. The position is permanent and on a full-time basis (37.5 hours).
The One80 team provides early intervention and highly structured treatment for drug and/or alcohol misuse to young people. You will be a big part of a small team where everyone takes a flexible and collaborative approach to work and is committed to improving outcomes for young people up to the age of 24 years, to promote recovery from substance misuse and to secure positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
We are looking for someone who has a relevant professional qualification with a minimum of 1 years’ experience of working with young people with alcohol/drug problems and/or working with young people/children with complex needs. You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of the team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained, whilst applying your knowledge of the range of drug/alcohol related problems and their impact on young people, their families and the community. You will have experience of and the ability to liaise and build links with professionals from a variety of disciplines as well as knowledge of legislation, guidelines and procedures relating to children and young people.
You will be passionate about changing lives and what we do, with a positive and engaging approach to our young people, as situations can sometimes be difficult and challenging so you will need to be non-judgemental, with a sensitive attitude and a good understanding of how to meet complex needs related to substance misuse.
The successful candidate will be able to work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 09:30 to 17:30, Tuesdays 09:30 to 19:00 and Thursdays 09:30 to 16:00. There is also an element of flexibility around working hours required. It is essential that you have a driving licence with access to a vehicle and insurance for business use to transport young people to appointments. A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the post.

The Bridge Project has been providing support since 1983. We work with individuals, families and communities to improve people’s lives in a sustainable way, recognising that solutions are often complex. Today we have a strong staff team of 120 dedicated individuals who address a range of issues such as homelessness, substance misuse, sex working, housing, employment and lots more.
We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Floating Support Worker within the Bridge Recovery Housing team. The role is a full-time permanent position, it is a key role to support people with drug or alcohol problems by helping them to maintain their tenancy. You will be working in the community and visiting people in their own homes, so it is crucial that you have a driving licence and access to a vehicle in order to carry out this role. The people you will work with will be facing challenges and may be at risk of becoming homeless. It is therefore essential that you have experience of supporting people with vulnerabilities and/or challenging behaviour. At times people do present in a crisis situation, so it is important that the successful candidate has excellent communication and negotiating skills and is able to work calmly and effectively with people and have a positive outlook and is able to build productive relationships.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, is highly organised and is able to manage their time effectively but who is also a team player. A good knowledge of housing management issues, safeguarding and welfare benefits and entitlement is essential.
This is a 37.5 hour post, Monday – Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm, however, there is an element of flexibility around working hours required by the postholder. A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the post.

What do I need to bring with me?

A good understanding of key working, person-centred support planning, and recovery-focused approaches is essential, alongside knowledge of health and safety when working in the community. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, promoting service users' rights, dignity, privacy, and choice at all times. Knowledge of welfare benefits relevant to the client group and a sound understanding of safeguarding, with the ability to address concerns effectively, are also key requirements for this role.
