Main Responsibilities • To oversee and coordinate youth work across the Circuit • To support, encourage and resource the team of volunteers who work with young people across the Circuit • To link in with and support teams who lead activities and groups for young people across the churches Liaise with the Children’s and Family Worker regarding work with children and young people • • To encourage and support youth participation in the life of churches across the Circuit • To nurture young people and help them explore and develop their faith • Develop new initiatives that would enhance our work with young people and support the development of young leaders • To help churches think creatively about engaging with unchurched young people • To connect in with the work of our churches who already have links with schools and work collaboratively where appropriate with the Southport & Area Schools Worker Trust • To keep accurate records, monitor progress, and present reports to the Circuit Meeting • To ensure effective risk assessments and safe working practices in relation to youth work are maintained and reviewed across the Circuit, in liaison with appropriate church personnel and volunteers • Attend appropriate training and events The appointment is full-time, 37 hrs per week, with flexible working, including weekends. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and self-motivated Programme Coordinator to manage our Supported Internships Programme in the Barnet area. This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
The successful candidate will lead and manage a team to deliver Supported Internships to young people in Barnet on our DFN Project Search sites who have an Education Health and Care Plan. They will ensure that the programme is delivered to the agreed curriculum, frameworks and methodology and ensure they meet internal and external standards for quality and impact. This includes Ofsted and DFE criteria. The role would suit someone with an educational/teaching background who has experience of managing similar projects.
You’ll be responsible for?
- Overseeing the operational delivery of the programme in line with Ofsted, DFE, and awarding body requirements.
- Embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement, learner progress, and inclusive practice.
- Creating a safe, supportive and ambitious learning environment for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
- Building strong relationships with local authorities, employers, families, and other key stakeholders.
- Monitoring performance against KPIs and outcomes, including learner progression, sustained employment, and quality indicators.
- Ensuring full compliance with funding contracts, safeguarding, and regulatory standards.
What are we looking for?
- Experience managing education, SEND, or supported employment programmes, particularly with young people with EHCPs.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework (EIF), DFE and awarding body requirements.
- A solid understanding of contract compliance, safeguarding, and working in partnership with families and support services.
- Excellent leadership skills — able to manage performance, motivate teams, and embed inclusive, person-centred approaches.
- Experience in budget management, effective data monitoring, and reporting against quality benchmarks.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across education, health, and employment sectors.
- Driver preferred but not essential.

DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: Support Oxfam's mission by implementing robust security protocols and fostering a safe, healthy & secure working environment. Collaborate with local partners and communities to enhance resilience and promote sustainable development per Oxfam's vision.
TEAM PURPOSE: Ensure safety and security of Oxfam staff, associated personnel, asset and program.
JOB PURPOSE: Ensure that the Syria programme security strategy, security management plans and Standard Operating Procedures are developed, implemented, monitored and reviewed; consistent with Oxfam policies, standards and requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Technical, Leadership, People and Resource management)
Analysis:
In conjunction with the CD/ MENA RSA, support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive context analysis and risk assessments for Oxfam assets, staff and programmes that will include;
- Ongoing analysis of the context and developments in relation to the security situation.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date context analysis and risk assessment.
- Optimize use of OSIRIS, the Oxfam Security Incident Reporting System.
- Maintain close contacts with all relevant stakeholders to develop a network and build relationships with key actors to ensure gathering of reliable security information.
- Undertake regular and ad hoc security assessment missions as necessary, in order to gather information and analyze the overall security situation in existing and potential areas of intervention.
Security System:
In conjunction with the CD/ MENA RSA support country management staff and be in charge of developing a security management system which includes a security management strategy (including detailed acceptance strategy) and plan and allow for the continuous updating of security measures that will include;
- Advise and support the Country Director with regard to implementing the security management system.
- Ensure the security management system is in line with existing Oxfam Security Policy, Risk Management policy and Approach.
- Support the Country Director and other senior staff to manage country security incidents.
- Provide crisis management content information to the crisis manager for crisis management response
- and decision making.
- Provide support to the assigned security officers/ focal points in country as appropriate.
- Ensure that the supporting departments (HR, Administration and Logistics) take on their role in facilitating good security management.
Security Awareness:
- Ensure that staff have the security skills and awareness that they need to be effective, by motivating all staff to do the PST online security training and all line manager the PST security management online training at Learning at Oxfam.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Carella Group at the John Innes Centre, working on cutting-edge science in the field of Evo-MPMI (Evolutionary Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions).
About the Carella Group:
We are a curious, enthusiastic, and innovative research group exploring the diversity of pathogen infection and plant immune processes underpinning host-microbe interactions across the green lineage. Using comparative macroevolutionary and molecular genetic approaches, our group explores widely-distributed and lineage-specific aspects of immunity & infection that will inform future efforts to protect plants from harmful pathogens.
The role:
Working as part of a team led by Phil Carella, you will perform key experiments aimed at identifying and understanding virulence processes enabling broad host infection of Pseudomonas phytopathogens in divergent land plants like the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha. The role will provide you with a broad range of stimulating activities, including:
- Evolutionary and molecular dissection of virulence mechanisms (effectors and toxins)
- Molecular microbiology approaches to genetically manipulate virulence and other key Pseudomonas traits
- Experience with a wide range of plant and microbial techniques including genetics, biochemistry, and computational approaches.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in the emerging field of Evo-MPMI (evolutionary molecular plant-microbe interactions). You will also work with world leading scientists who are experts in their field.
The ideal candidate:
You will have a PhD in Molecular Microbiology, Plant Biology and/or Biochemistry. You will have in-depth knowledge of microbial virulence strategies, a general understanding of evolutionary plant-pathogen interactions, and demonstrable experience in molecular biology/microbiology.
