About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Registered Practitioner Psychologist with a background in clinical psychology to join our team in Croydon. The service offers a psychologically informed environment across four sites, providing low to high support forensic mental health services to our residents with forensic mental health needs, complex conditions, and dual diagnosis. In this role, you will drive the delivery of evidence based psychological assessments and interventions aimed at the rehabilitation and reintegration of our residents into the communities. This is a creative, evolving, and impactful role which works closely with our Group Psychological Lead and wider teams to provide support to staff and at times residents to support in providing a streamlined and psychologically informed service.
Key Responsibilities include:

About You

I am looking for someone to support my 11 -year-old son who is non-verbal with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as an intellectual disability and who lives with me. The current situation is that my son has difficulty engaging in any after school activities due to a lack of routine.
The aim would be to assist me and my son building up confidence in getting him engaged more with activities outside home such as swimming in particular as the aquatic environment is beneficial to improve his mood and provide exercise. He also very much enjoys trampolining. The long-term goal is to establish a safe routine for my son to get settled in out of school activities to such a degree that I can also spend more time with my other teenage daughter who currently lives with her grandparents.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in or training towards Allied Healthcare/Education disciplines such as Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Education/Child Development. The main part of the post is to support a young 11-year-old boy to pursue his hobbies/interests and provide support with learning and communication through play. Direction will be given by myself and full training will be provided on the job.
Applicant will support the boy using behavioural strategies and techniques, communication method such as PECS, sensory and emotional strategies.
- Duties will include supporting the child to undertake a variety of social, learning activities including building up confidence in travelling in public transport.
- Initially shadowing and working alongside me as the boy’s mum in order to increase confidence in developing routines outside the family home so that my son becomes settled enough to pursue social activities with the support worker and independently from his mum’s presence.
- The post consists in 6 hours per week after school hours, worked flexibly doing 2-3 shifts per week to be negotiated.
- The hourly rate is £12.87 per hour.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children with ASD as well as how to handle potential ‘meltdowns’ essential although training will be provided and the work will initially consist in shadowing and working in partnership with the boy’s parent. The role would be beneficial for those studying or have a background in education, psychology, and speech and language therapy.

Associate Professorship in Physical Geography (Long-Term Landscape Change in the Past)
The School of Geography and the Environment, in association with Hertford College, seeks applications for a full-time Associate Professorship in Physical Geography with a focus on Long-Term Landscape Change in the Past.
The Associate Professorship is tenable from 1st September 2026, or at an earlier or later date by negotiation, and will be held in conjunction with a Tutorial Fellowship at Hertford College under arrangements described in the further particulars. The post-holder will be based at the School of Geography and the Environment, and Hertford College, Oxford. The appointment will be for five years in the first instance and, upon completion of a successful review, the post-holder will be eligible for reappointment to the retiring age.
The main duties of the post-holder will be to engage in research, produce high-quality publications of an international standard and to teach, supervise and examine undergraduate and graduate students. The person appointed will be expected to engage in advanced research in physical geography and to give high-quality lectures, classes and small-group teaching in geography at both undergraduate and graduate level. The appointee is expected to have expertise and a strong research interest in long-term landscape change and the necessary skills and experience to provide academic leadership of the School’s sedimentary dating facility ( https://www.geog.ox.ac.uk/research/landscape/old/index.html). Other key duties include undertaking administrative work for the School and College.
The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in Physical Geography or a closely related field, relevant to research and teaching in long-term landscape change in the past; have a proven track record of high-quality research and publications in physical geography at an international level which is complementary to the current research strengths in physical geography in the School; and evidence of rigorous and significant research plans. The post-holder will be expected to teach, supervise, and examine undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Geography, and be responsible for the organisation and teaching of the undergraduate degree at Hertford College The post-holder is also expected to engage in the citizenship and service work of the School and the College, and be committed to providing a positive, supportive and inclusive environment for all.
Salary: Combined University and College salary from £57,986 – £77,366p.a. p.a. plus additional benefits including an annual college Housing Allowance of £12,433 at current rates.
An additional allowance of £3,199 p.a. is payable upon award of Recognition of Distinction (the title of Full Professor).
