We’re currently looking for a Children & Young People Activity Leader to join our Community Activities team.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll plan, lead and deliver engaging, inclusive activities for children with a range of needs. You’ll work closely with families, colleagues and external partners to ensure every child feels supported, safe and valued.
You’ll also play a key leadership role during sessions, supporting staff, modelling best practice and helping develop high-quality, person-centred services.
This role is based at our Community Hub in Watford and includes evening and weekend work.

Ivan House, our beautiful new Mental Health Residential home in Coalville will support children & young people with a range of complex needs, providing a nurturing environment that enables them to continue to recover from the mental health issues that led to their admission to a Tier 4 CAMHS unit. The home will meet the specific needs of children & young people who are ready for discharge and no longer require inpatient mental health services, but are not yet able or ready to return to home or still require a period of time in a therapeutic setting.
Some of the responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- To build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
- To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
- To lead and support the Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties.

Volunteer Dog Walkers
At Eau Brink Rehoming Centre
Our Rehoming Centre wouldn’t be the success it is without the help of our dedicated team of volunteers, many of whom have been with us for years. Our volunteers give their time freely, for the benefit of the animals in our care. We are currently recruiting for new dog walkers.
We need fit, active and capable people over the age of 18 to join our band of volunteer dog walkers. The role entails giving up a few hours of your time to spend with our dogs, taking them out for approximately 20 minutes at a time, and in all weathers! We have a variety of dogs in our care, each with different exercise requirements, but all needing some quality time out of the kennel and some one-to-one attention.
Our dog walkers attend every day of the week, on either an ‘early’ shift 8.30am-11.30am or a ‘late’ shift 11.30am-2.30pm. We ask that you are able to commit to one (or more) of these shifts on a regular basis so that we can plan our dog walking rota effectively. We are currently in need of people who can walk during the late shift especially at the weekend.
If you would like to volunteer please complete a volunteering form (see below) and advise us of the shift/s you are able to cover. We will then arrange a date for you to attend for an induction.
Inductions will be held twice a month and last approximately one hour. Once you have completed your induction we will be able to include you on the Team as soon as we have an opening for the hours you have available.
Volunteering is extremely rewarding for a number of reasons and we have a lovely family atmosphere within the Centre. All our volunteers have a great love for the animals in our care and gain huge satisfaction from the part they play in every successful adoption. Most people know about our dog walking volunteers but fewer people know that we also have a small team of people who come to the Centre regularly to ensure that our cats get some individual attention too. Our cat cuddlers spend time sitting in the heated pens with the cats, talking to them, grooming those that need it, and playing with the livelier ones. Although cats are quite independent creatures, most enjoy a quiet lap to sit on and some fuss. Our volunteers are invaluable when we have nervous or convalescing cats, as they provide a reassuring presence just by ‘being there’. It is important that our cat cuddlers are aware of each individual cat’s requirements and can tailor their attention appropriately – what is right for one could be overwhelming for another.
‘Cuddling time’ is between 11am and 2pm every day of the week and our volunteers tend to stay for a couple of hours each time they come. We have plenty of toys and grooming equipment available for our volunteers to use.
You will need to be over 18 years old to volunteer, please complete a volunteering form (see below) and advise us when you are able to come – we will endeavour to accommodate your availability where possible. We will then arrange a date for you to attend for an induction with one of our cattery staff, so you are fully prepared before you start!

About the service
The service supports 6 adults, 5 men and 1 woman within their own tenancies by a large staff team. The service when full supports 8 adults with learning disabilities. The needs of the people supported are unique to them but do include Learning Disabilities, Autism, Epilepsy, ADHD, Diabetes and Hearing Impairment. Each service is bespoke to the individual, with a focus on their priorities, likes and interests and ambitions. All of the people that we support have their own individual personalities, lifestyles, interests and hobbies and so the support they require can vary from person to person.
Most of the people supported have Welfare Guardians appointed either through the Health and Social Care Partnerships or families. We work closely with them and ensure that any change to support or event is reported and reviewed appropriately.
About the role
We are looking for a Waking Night Support Worker for our Tullideph Housing Support Service. We require three waking night staff members on shift each night to ensure safe delivery of support. Two waking night shifts are within a person supported home and one night shift is based in the office for additional support should it be required. We believe that night-time care is just as important as daytime support. Our Waking Night Support Team at Tullideph Housing Support Service plays a vital role in ensuring that the people we support feel safe, comfortable, and valued throughout the night.
As a waking night support worker, you’ll be an important part of a dedicated team, working to create a calm and reassuring environment where individuals with complex needs and learning disabilities can rest peacefully and wake up feeling secure, refreshed, and well cared for. This 35 hour role is key in maintaining the safety and well-being of the people we support during the night and when people supported wake in the morning before day shift staff arrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Complete regular "keeping safe" checks to ensure well-being.
- Supporting individuals with evening and morning routines, and medication administration.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Accurately updating support plans, incident logs, and health & safety records.
Shift details:
Shifts are 9.30pm to 07.30am or 10pm-8am depending on the person you will be supporting.
A shift pattern of four nights one week and three nights the next week.

About the role:
This is a unique opportunity for a Waking Night Support Worker who would relish the opportunity for career development.
This role includes both lone working and teamwork. You will support with medication, personal care, nutrition, and maintain a clean environment through laundry and housekeeping duties. Tasks include monitoring service users during the night, completing required documentation such as night checks, incident forms, and observation records, and providing support according to individualised care plans.
You will also liaise with families and professionals, participate in training and supervisions, and ensure policies and procedures are followed. Aspens offers flexible shifts and support for professional development in a rewarding environment.
You will be provided with full training and support in order to make a success of the role.

We work across the Southeast of England; supporting individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities and physical disabilities across residential care homes, supported living homes, day services and our fantastic outreach programme.

Duties & Responsibilities:
· Supporting service users with administration of medication (and keeping a record of medication administered)
· Supporting with personal care needs and nutritional needs
· Lone working with confidence and ability.
· Keeping the environment clean with laundry duties and ironing during the night
· Delivering agreed support to Individuals at night based on personalised care plans
· Completing night checks on Individuals and recording as required
· Completing night reports and other relevant forms such as seizure forms, accident/incident forms, fridge/freezer temperature
· Supporting with moving and handling requirements during the night
· Completing daily observation sheets, ensuring a smooth flow of information to facilitate good communication within the staffing team, as well as professionals who require viewing of these.
· Working with families and relevant professionals to keep all parties updated on relevant and necessary information
· Keeping service users safe and reporting any changes or health concerns
· Attending training, participating in supervision sessions with nominated manager and attending staff meetings as required by your line manager.
