The Role
We’re looking for a Recovery Worker to support individuals through their rehabilitation journey. You’ll work closely with residents, therapists, and partner agencies to ensure each person receives the tailored care they need to recover and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support and coordinate individual care plans
- Help service users register with GPs, access benefits, and attend appointments
- Facilitate and support recovery-focused group sessions
- Carry out health & safety checks, room inductions, and drug/alcohol testing
- Support life skills development (e.g. cooking, budgeting, cleaning)
- Liaise with external services to ensure a smooth transition after treatment
- Keep accurate records using our care management system
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in a residential, hostel, or care setting
- Strong communication and care coordination skills
- Ability to work with vulnerable people in a supportive way
- IT skills and confident with record keeping
- Flexible approach to shift work (some evenings/weekends)
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it)
- Experience working with addiction (e.g. gambling, drugs, alcohol)
- Familiarity with safeguarding and risk management
- Group facilitation or therapeutic support skills

Longview House is a 24hr Registered Mental Health Care Home, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health/addiction to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a 24hr staffed service to our residents aged 18 - 67.

DHI are recruiting a Recovery Worker to support clients within the South Glos area who are on one of our drug and alcohol recovery programmes. We are looking for people who can bring creativity and enthusiasm to supporting clients, helping them to make positive changes in their lives.
You will be joining an experienced Drug and Alcohol Community Team that works hard to support each other and to deliver an exceptional service to our clients
As a recovery worker, you will deliver key working and evidence-based psychosocial groupwork programmes to support individuals make positive changes to their drug use. The role is varied and as interesting and requires you to carry out needs assessments and risk assessments alongside other tasks.

You’ll be delivering a combination of harm reduction and abstinence-based interventions, tailored to the needs of each individual.

Summary
Criminal Justice Recovery Workers will be part of the All Age Recovery Service (AARCS) team working specifically with clients involved with the criminal justice system. Being required to encourage, initiate and sustain recovery, workers will facilitate both 1:1 and group-based psychosocial interventions with prolific offenders, whilst maintaining excellent relationships with partnership agencies.

You’ll be responsible for the care co-ordination of each client, including case management and the facilitation of a group programme that will involve an element of complimentary therapies.
The Criminal Justice Recovery Workers’ ultimate aims are to:
• Increase the number of offenders engaged in structured substance misuse treatment.
• Support clients to reduce their substance misuse and aspire towards achieving and sustaining recovery.
• Educate clients around harm minimisation to help reduce the likelihood of drug-related deaths across the county.
• Support clients to address and reduce their drug-related reoffending.

Your impact:

You will assess their needs, support them through their recovery journey by providing listening support sessions, and working jointly on recovery plans. You will have your own experience of pregnancy, birth and caring for a newborn, or you will have supported someone close to you through this critical perinatal period. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the emotional impact of pregnancy and birth and the demands of parenthood. You will be able to empathise with the needs of families during the vital first 1001 days of their baby’s life, and be able to deliver messages about perinatal mental health, and the importance of attachment and bonding. We are looking for positive and self-motivated individuals who are keen to learn and develop within this exciting role. We are looking for excellent listening skills, empathy, and ability to build rapport. Successful candidates will also have good organisational and time management skills. You will be able to keep on top of a busy caseload whilst delivering high quality support. You will be required to travel frequently, across the Bradford district, to deliver face-to-face support often in people’s homes. You will be involved in developing relationships and building links with other professionals and local support services. You will use your connections to support service users to access local services and to generate appropriate referrals. You will provide guidance on how parents can effectively relate to their baby.

About the Role
We are currently looking to appoint a Recovery Worker to join our dynamic, multi-agency team at The Harbour. This role involves providing holistic, person-centred support to adult service users entering the service and coordinating their treatment journey.
As a Recovery Worker, you will play a key role in assessment, care coordination, delivery of psychosocial structured interventions (PSI), and multi-agency working, supporting individuals to achieve meaningful and sustainable recovery outcomes.
Working under the direction of the Team Leader, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team developing and delivering high-quality drug and alcohol services across Lambeth.
What You’ll Do
Manage a caseload of service users, regularly reviewing ongoing care and treatment
Liaise closely with a full range of specialist workers within the multi-agency team, including family members and significant others where appropriate
Work in partnership and undertake joint key working to support progression from semi-structured to structured psychosocial interventions
Support service users to access resources and services that increase recovery capital and help them achieve their recovery goals
Promote family, carer and service user involvement throughout treatment and recovery planning
Use excellent communication and therapeutic skills when working with service users, carers and partner agencies
Work collaboratively with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams, providing advice and guidance through meetings, reviews, group supervision and telephone support
Coordinate individual recovery plans effectively
Improve outcomes for children of service users by reducing the impact of drug- and alcohol-related harm on family life and promoting positive family involvement in treatment
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need to be:
Passionate about supporting people affected by drug and alcohol use through a recovery-focused, person-centred approach
Experience working with adults with complex needs and an understanding of substance misuse and psychosocial interventions
Confident managing a caseload and coordinating care within a multi-agency or multidisciplinary environment
Strong communication and engagement skills, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
