Who will you be supporting?
We mostly support over 55’s however depending on level of need younger individual’s maybe considered. This depends on the housing providers decision
You would need to be fully trained in medication administration, moving and positioning and Peg care for nutrition and medication, Diabetes, and epilepsy. You will be given full training on this in your induction with us.
What is important to us?
The people who live within our extra care services do not all have commissioned support there are many people who live here, and we only provide emergency response, this entails answering their pendant calls in an emergency.
It is important that we are supportive of everyone and their abilities and needs, we promote independence. Some people we support require low level support such as support with meals, medication, cleaning, others can require a higher level of support with personal care and moving and positioning. The aim of the extra care services is to enable people to live independently but with staff on site 24/7. Some people we support can live in their own apartment but need four calls a day supporting with meals, personal care, medication and cleaning, they don’t need a nursing/care home but they do need a higher level of support.
We also support people with their social hours such as going out into the community for days out, meals out, shopping and supporting to medical appointments.
Our extra care services are not secure buildings and people are free to come and go as they please and have visitors whenever they want there are DOLS in place, everyone has their own front door. They all have pendants which are linked to the phones the support team carry and these are responded to as and when people press them for emergency support

Where will I be working?.
Welcome to Parkview. We are a 24 hour Residential Care Home providing care for up to 6 residents with moderate to profound Learning Disabilities for over 20 years. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible. Your role will include supporting with personal care, manual handling, helping with medication, keeping residents safe and promoting their independence and housekeeping as well as supporting a range of daily activities including Arts and Crafts, music sessions, swimming and even going on holiday!
These are 24 hour services, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 7:00/8:00am to 2:00/3:00pm and 2:00/3:00 pm to 9:00/10:00pm, sleep ins or waking nights, some weekends and bank holidays.

What will I be doing?
This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:
- Promoting the independence of people we support
- Supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday
- Arranging activities in the home and in the local community
- Developing residents' life skills and personal interests
- Helping residents stay safe and healthy
- Assisting with personal care needs
- Manual handling
- Supporting people with medication

Whilst knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn't essential. What is essential is that you are:

The Department of Social Work is a reputed provider of pre and post qualifying social work education and research. The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in this specialist team. We are looking for an experienced Business Support Administrator and Office Coordinator; someone who is motivated, passionate, and wanting to make a difference to the lives of those that are impacted by sexual violence and domestic abuse, while ensuring the highest standards of quality and client experience are upheld.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive business support for three services and office management to ensure the smooth functioning of the three services including office cover (Portsmouth), health and safety checks and premises arrangements
• Support (if budget allows) an apprentice to maintain administrative and data collection systems including referral processes
• Be accountable for data recording, and reporting requirements including oversight of financial processes for the three services as well as being responsible for the smooth running of the administration linked to premises and building management.
• Support the development of activities that supports the finances of the three services such as developing our training offer, income through room letting and finding funding opportunities for the other services.
• Support the recruitment and induction of staff and volunteers for all three services with the appropriate service managers.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
You will have Extensive experience in providing excellent administrative support including good IT, numeracy skills and familiarisation with use of systems, databases, collating data and providing high quality monitoring and evaluation reports. You will be educated to a minimum of NVQ4 or degree level in a discipline that is relevant to this role i.e Business Administration, Finance, Systems, Health and Social Care, Information and Advice. Some experience of line management is desirable. You will have experience of working with a charity either as a volunteer or within a paid capacity. You will be trauma aware and have had experience of working with complex change and trauma in a supportive/administrative capacity. You will be able to demonstrate empathy, tact and sensitivity. You will have excellent organisational, planning, time keeping, problem solving skills. You will have an ability to maintain financial procedures. You will have the skills and aptitude for building relationships and maintain relationships with professionals, community groups and other agencies. You will have understanding and awareness of the impact of disadvantage and social exclusion and a commitment to promoting inclusion and equality of opportunity for all. You will be proactive and have a positive attitude.
