City Church Chelmsford is a growing church plant from Danbury Mission Church and the Mission Essex Network that is growing quickly in its new city centre building.
To help reach the city of Chelmsford with the gospel and serve our expanding church (200+) we are seeking to appoint an Assistant Pastor to join the team.
As a senior member of the staff team, the Assistant Pastor will be expected to be involved in the whole spectrum of pastoral and practical activity at an exciting time in the church's life and development.
We encourage team ministry within the church under the supervision and mentorship of the Pastor and the Elders.
Required Skills
1. There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post-holder is a male Christian who will be in agreement with, holds to and lives out the theological position of the church in accordance with the church's Statement of Faith and Church Characteristics.
The post-holder must be:
a. A mature, theologically trained Christian committed to God's Word and to growing in godliness
b. In full agreement with our Doctrinal basis of faith
c. Committed to expository preaching
2. Theological training to degree level or equivalent is essential.
3. Leadership experience within a church or Christian setting is essential.
4. The post-holder must be able to demonstrate practical experience of developing and leading youth work within a church or Christian organization and/or in a teaching or youth work setting.
5. The ability to communicate clearly and dynamically with others is essential.
6. The post-holder must also have (or be willing to apply for) an unblemished DBS certificate for both Adult and Child Workforces, including barred list checks.

The brief…what does it involve?
Come and learn with us we serve Jesus as a growing rural hub church. The role will have 3 aspects to it, with some flexibility pending the successful applicant:
- Ministry basics: preaching, leading, small group leadership and pastoral work at MEC,
- Learning leadership: receiving regular mentoring, learning as part of the wider leadership and staff teams, other training as appropriate
- Adult evangelism: creating clear pathways from our MEC "Gospel Gateways" through to Hope Explored/Sundays and Jesus…
Required Skills
The successful applicant will be someone who loves the Lord Jesus, loves his word and loves his people. They will exhibit the biblical character requirements of a church elder, be personable and a team player. They will come with a willingness to serve, and with some prior ministry experience and training. They will be humble and teachable and be in full agreement with the FIEC Doctrinal Basis and Statements on Women in Ministry, Gospel Unity and Marriage. And they'll have a right to work in the UK.

About the Research
Our group investigates the fundamental biology of meiotic recombination—a process crucial for fertility, genetic diversity, and genome evolution. During meiosis, hundreds of programmed DNA double‑strand breaks are repaired through unique germ‑cell pathways. While essential, many aspects of this mechanism remain unknown.
This project focuses on Arabidopsis and aims to:
- Decode the molecular pathway driving germ cell differentiation
- Understand how these pathways influence meiotic recombination
- Develop and apply innovative genetic, epigenetic, and molecular biology techniques to answer long-standing questions in plant reproductive biology
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in supporting experimental work across the lab, including:
- Characterising Arabidopsis mutant lines
- Collecting and preparing plant samples for genotyping
- Conducting DNA extractions, PCR, and microscopy
- Assisting with molecular cloning and plant transformation
- Contributing to high‑throughput phenotyping of recombination events
- Working closely with a postdoctoral researcher to deliver high‑quality data and impactful research outputs
This role offers the chance to broaden your technical expertise and work across a wide range of modern molecular and genetic techniques.

- Experienced in genetics and molecular biology

Sussex Cricket is believed to be the oldest professional sports club in the world and the Grounds team play an essential and integral part in the success of its cricket team. Apprentice Groundsperson In the last ten years, the Grounds team have twice been awarded the ECB’s best ‘One-Day Pitches’ trophy as well as receiving two commendations; including in 2017 coming runner-up for the ‘best four-day pitches’ and receiving a commendation for ‘four-day pitches’ in 2016, 2019 and 2021. We also received a commendation for ‘one day pitches in 2024. The Grounds team won the Institute of Groundsmanship ‘Professional Cricket Grounds Team of the Year’ awards in 2016 and 2019. The team have responsibility for the grounds at both Blackstone Academy and the Brighton Aldridge Community Academy, in addition to preparing the wicket and the ground for match days at Hove. With additional responsibility for providing first-class quality practice facilities, re-laying the wickets, the irrigation and ground rejuvenation. The Role This is an excellent learning opportunity and an exciting time to join the groundstaff at Sussex Cricket. This will provide the successful candidate with experience in producing some of the best pitches in domestic cricket as well as gaining experience of all forms of wicket preparation and the day-to-day maintenance of first-class playing surfaces. In recent years, the 1st Central County Ground has undergone a £9m re-development and is developing next phase of ground development. The successful candidate will spend blocks of time at each of the cricket grounds (Hove, Brighton Aldridge Community Academy and Blackstone) gaining hands-on experience as well as learning machinery maintenance and grinding skills. Working hours during the cricket season can be long and therefore a flexible approach is needed. Working weekends and evenings is also often necessary during the season. Working hours outside of the cricket season are more flexible. College attendance at college will typically be one day per week. Are you passionate about making a tangible impact locally and changing the lives of vulnerable young people? Roundabout is looking for a Tenancy Support Worker to support homeless young people aged 16-25 in Sheffield.
About the role
Supporting Tenants works with young people who are either moving into their own homes, or who are currently at risk of becoming homelessness due to the fact they are struggling to manage their current accommodation.
As a tenancy support worker, you will work as part of a team to provide intensive and structured one to one support to a caseload of young people and young families using a strength-based approach to achieve the goal of sustaining their accommodation.
The role involves developing the skills and confidence of young people and empowering them to achieve identified goals and maximise independence within the timeframe for support. The role involves some lone working with young people some with a variety of multiple and complex needs.
Roundabout is committed to ensuring the safeguarding of the young people who access its services. In this role you will work as part of a multi-agency team to safeguard vulnerable young people and families, participating in multi-agency case meetings, conferences and where necessary take the lead role and organise these meetings.

Morning Tasks:
- Conduct one-on-one key work sessions using tools like Outcome Star and WEMWBS to assess and support residents’ wellbeing.
- Guide residents through practical courses on budgeting, understanding benefits, and landlord responsibilities.

Midday Activities:
- Assist new residents in settling into supported accommodation by completing paperwork, explaining house rules, and creating a welcoming environment.
- Signpost residents to relevant local services, from healthcare appointments to community resources, fostering their independence.

Afternoon Duties:
- Conduct risk assessments, ensure health and safety compliance, and handle safeguarding concerns, liaising with external agencies when required.
- Provide advice and mediation for residents, using a firm but fair approach to build strong, professional relationships.

- Motivate residents to manage personal responsibilities, like paying weekly personal charges, and coach them on maintaining their tenancy.
- Encourage proactive steps towards independence while addressing any barriers they may face.
- Help residents set up direct debits and complete grant applications to secure financial stability.
