DECEMBER 2025 JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Finance Officer (Payments and Payroll) REPORTS TO: Head of Finance (HoF) CONTRACT: Perm LOCATION: London We operate a hybrid working model with two days a week in the office ROLE PURPOSE The purpose of this role is support finance team in managing payments, its processing through financial system and maintain proper financial records of payments. It also manages the payroll for Brussels and US office and as well as regular consultants. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Financial Transactions: Recording financial data, processing invoices (Suppliers/ contractors) credit cards, staff expenses, bank transactions for ALL bank Accounts (£, $, Euro) and managing payment queries. For all entities. Processing Depreciation, prepayment, etc on Balance sh eet Re cord Keeping: Monitor and record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records. Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, process invoices, and ensure all financial data is updated in internal systems. 1 Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets and cash flow statements. Payroll Management: Verifying salaries, sick pay, maternity pay, and resolving queries from employees regarding payroll for GW Belgium. Perform Salary Administration support services. Reconciliation & Reporting: Assists with completing balance sheet reconciliations, generating financial forecasts, and preparing budget and salary reports. Auditing: Assisting with audits, providing necessary data transaction listing for ALL Entities, and acting on recommendations. System Administration: Maintaining financial records and utilizing accounting software. Any other duties Collating and referencing supporting documentation for independent grant donor reviews and audits or Full Statutory Audit • Assisting others in the Finance Team with any other duties as required, including the upkeep of electronic filing Assisting others i n the Finance. OTHER • Where appropriate, oversees the work of other team members, interns or consultants • Carries out any other duties equal to the skills and responsibilities required for this role as directed by Head of Finance (HoF) 3 PERSON SPECIFICATION To be successful in this role you’ll: • Accounting Degree /part qualified CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA • Previous experience in a finance and payroll department. • Sound knowledge of financial accounting systems and MS Excel and good knowledge of accounting systems • Understanding of double -entry accounting, payroll processes, and financial regulations. • Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. • Ability to work accurately under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines. • Outstanding attention to detail with good verbal and written communication skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, responds positively to change; works well under pressure and deals with multiple priorities • High levels of diligence and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to teamwork. • You display self -awareness understanding your strengths, limitations, and your impact on others • You display an affinity to the Global Witness values and actively participate in Global Witness’ diversity and inclusion journey . 4
