Greenwich VIA is an integrated community substance misuse and wellbeing service in Greenwich. We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and passionate Recovery Practitioner to contribute to the success of this service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a busy service in a vibrant borough.

The RoleThe post holder will be a dynamic, driven individual who is committed to supporting the local Opiate, Alcohol dependant and Non-dependant substance misuse community and their associated needs by:
- Working with the local community, making every contact count through motivational interviewing and brief advice and intervention
- Identifying and targeting known hot spots, including partnership working and joint operations as required
- Supporting the RBG (to collate and gather information from a range of sources, including street drinkers, partner agencies and residents)
- Supporting those in the area into mainstream services and working with local providers to enhance provision for this hard to engage population
- You will have experience of working with people who are experiencing substance misuse difficulties or who are vulnerable.
- The post holder will carry a caseload ensuring that assessments of need are conducted thoroughly, that safeguarding of service users, their families and the wider community are protected from harm.
- You will have responsibility for planning and delivery of effective treatment interventions to those that use our services.
- The post holder will deliver face to face, group work utilising evidenced based interventions.
This role will be in the Royal Borough of Greenwich (821 Woolwich Road,) providing a service across the whole borough but based Charlton. You may be required to work flexibly to provide some evening sessions and from other satellite services throughout Greenwich Borough where you will be able to support the local community.
The nearest train stations are Charlton and North Greenwich Station.

- The Role
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced drug and alcohol recovery practitioner to work within our Gloucestershire Service, working closely with partners from Probation and the courts as well as mental health and housing professionals and other multi agency partners.
Your focus will be to assist those who have been given a court order (CSTR) to engage with VIA, offer support, advice and interventions and to ensure that harm reduction advice is given. You will liaise with, housing, mental health and clinical teams supporting people to engage.
You will facilitate referrals into community services and carry out assessments working alongside the VIA hub teams and the wider Criminal Justice Team.

The Role

You will have an in-depth knowledge and experience of the challenges affecting people with substance use and related health and wellbeing issues.
Working as part of a dynamic team you will be responsible for managing a caseload of people, to include prescribing, providing a good quality of interventions at varying stages of their recovery as well as developing and delivering a wide range of groups.
The duties are varied, and no two days will be the same.

We will provide brief interventions, signposting and offer advice and guidance to support improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
As a new service, the successful candidate will be crucial in building new partnerships and developing service pathways and processes.
Location
This role will provide support dynamically across Guildford and Waverley, working from community venues and GP’s surgeries.

- The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and committed individual to join our team in Merton, Mitcham.
This is an exciting opportunity to hold a mixed caseload and support other tasks including assessment, duty and groups in a thriving service, making positive changes in people’s lives, through a non-judgmental, recovery-based approach that values the strengths and choices of those individuals. We are seeking committed, organized and highly motivated candidates, with an in-depth knowledge and experience of the challenges affecting people with substance misuse and related health and wellbeing issues.
Through joining Via you will receive a warm welcome, peer support, training, regular supervision and the chance to thrive in a lively and innovative service.
The main purpose of this role is to provide excellent quality of care to people who use our service accessing treatment for substance misuse and their complex needs, in partnership with our clinical team, counsellors and other professionals involved in client's care.
Responsibilities will include:being responsible for managing a caseload of clients, including prescribing.
providing a good quality of interventions at varying stages of their recovery as well as developing and delivering a wide range of groups.
The duties are varied, and no two days will be the same. Duties may include supporting other areas of service delivery as well as helping to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support health and wellbeing such as smoking cessation and local events.
The ServiceLaunched in 2018, Via Merton in Mitcham is a fully integrated substance misuse service, providing clinical and psychosocial interventions, operating from a main treatment hub, with additional satellites within the community. The team actively promotes recovery and works with individuals that are directly and indirectly affected by substance misuse, working with the local community to improve the health, wellbeing and functioning of Merton residents, irrespective of circumstance.
