Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of our Service Users? About supporting vulnerable people and preparing them for increased independence? Do you have experience working in supported housing with young people and/or extensive experience of supporting vulnerable young people?
Oasis Community Housing is a Christian response to homelessness and disadvantage providing housing, support and other specialised services. Our vision is for everyone to be part of a community where they are included, belong and have what they need to reach their God-given potential.
We provide holistic support, including one to one key work, Support Planning, Life and Employability Skills Workshops and opportunities for personal development. We’re seeking to recruit Relief Support Workers within our Gateshead Projects.
To join us you will need to demonstrate a holistic approach in relating to people and an understanding of the pressures facing vulnerable people, particularly around homelessness. You will need the ability to engage, relate and motivate people, to use your initiative and work flexibly in a sometimes demanding environment.
We are primarily looking to appoint relief staff to cover weekdays and weekends, working a 9am-6pm shift on a rota basis with occasional 6pm-midnight and sleepover shifts. The flexibility to cover other shifts as needed would be required.
In return you will benefit from a supportive, creative environment and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills. We are passionate about our staff and believe in caring for them in the same ways we care about our service users. We believe staff are the foundation stone to the success of the charity and so we do everything we can to make sure they feel valued, supported, engaged and developed. We welcome applicants from all faiths or none, but it is important that all employees understand and sympathise with the Christian ethos of Oasis Community Housing.
