Job Description Interpretation Admin Assistant Job Description Interpretation Admin Assistant Job Title: Reports to: Interpretation Admin Assistant Interpretation Manager Business Area: Museum Interpretation Working pattern: Part time – 17.5 hours a week over 3 agreed days Location: Onsite Contract type: Permanent Pay Range / Salary: £11,600 Role overview As Interpreta+on Admin Assistant, you’ll provide essen+al administra+ve support to the Interpreta+on Team, helping to deliver engaging, accurate, and accessible content across the Museum. From coordina+ng schedules and managing documenta+on to suppor+ng events and liaising with volunteers, you’ll be contribu+ng meaningfully to our programmes and visitor experience. Key responsibili/es • Provide administra+ve support for interpreta+on projects, including scheduling, documenta+on, and communica+on. • Assist with the coordina+on of volunteers and freelance interpreters/demonstrators. • Maintain accurate records and databases related to interpreta+on ac+vi+es. • Support the planning and delivery of events and exhibi+ons. • • Liaise with internal departments and external partners to ensure effec+ve communica+on. Prepare reports, presenta+ons, and materials as required. • Respond to enquiries related to interpreta+on ac+vi+es. • Assist with budget tracking and procurement processes. • Assist the Interpreta+on manager in the care and documenta+on of interpreta+on resources. Person specification Essential: • Strong administrative and organisational skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication. • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Attention to detail and accuracy. • A proactive and flexible approach to work. Desirable: • Experience working in a museum, heritage, or cultural organisation. • Knowledge of interpretation or public engagement practices. Our heritage is richer when it includes all voices.
