Help shape faster, more coordinated care and support for people living with motor neurone disease (MND) by bringing your clinical expertise to a programme with national reach and influence.

We are looking for a Clinical Lead to provide expert clinical leadership across the Casey Commission and MND Fast Track programmes on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will bring practical insight, credibility and influence to support the development of faster diagnosis, improved access to specialist services and more coordinated care. This is a unique opportunity to work with senior healthcare leaders, policymakers and partners, helping to shape recommendations that deliver meaningful change for people affected by MND.

As Clinical Lead, you will help turn clinical expertise into practical, deliverable solutions while strengthening the Association's clinical credibility and influence across national programmes.

Main Responsibilities

Provide expert clinical leadership, advice and professional judgement to support the Casey Commission and MND Fast Track work programmes
Support MND Association Teams with policy development, influencing activity and service improvement recommendations through evidence-based clinical advice
Represent the MND Association in clinical, professional, policy and strategic forums
Act as the primary clinical link between the Casey Commission programme and the MND Association's Clinical Advisory Board (CAB)
Work with the National Clinical Director and CAB Chair to coordinate timely clinical input and support programme priorities
Support collaboration across existing clinical networks and advisory structures to ensure programme priorities are informed by the best available clinical expertise.
Translate clinical insight into practical recommendations that support programme delivery, policy development and influencing activity
Build and maintain effective relationships with senior clinical leaders, NHS England, Integrated Care Systems, government departments, professional bodies and clinical networks.
Attend and contribute to workshops, conferences, stakeholder events and site visits that support programme objectives
Ensure people affected by MND remain at the heart of programme development and system improvement discussions

About You

Essential

Registered healthcare professional with current professional registration
Significant experience within MND services, neurological conditions or related specialist clinical fields
Experience of clinical leadership, service development, pathway redesign or quality improvement
Strong understanding of health and care system structures, service delivery challenges and improvement opportunities.
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary and integrated models of care
Demonstrable credibility and professional standing within relevant clinical networks
Experience engaging, influencing and building relationships with senior clinical leaders and stakeholders
Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation and relationship-building skills
Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical issues to a range of audiences.
Experience working across organisations and partnerships
Commitment to improving outcomes and experiences for people living with MND and their families

Desirable

Experience as a Nurse Consultant, Consultant Allied Health Professional, Advanced Clinical Practitioner or equivalent senior role
Experience working with NHS England, Integrated Care Systems, national improvement programmes, government departments or professional bodies
Experience leading or supporting clinical networks, advisory groups or communities of practice
Knowledge of genetics, genomics, advanced or emerging therapies and their service implications
Experience working with charities, patient organisations or national advocacy programmes

Hybrid working Expectations: Home-based role with requirements to travel to London and Northampton offices and attend meetings, workshops, conferences, stakeholder events and site visits across the UK in line with business needs.

Salary:

Circa £70,000 per annum - Full Time Equivalent

Circa £42,500 pro rata (22.5 hours)
