Film and Television Teacher
Pauline Quirke Academy is looking for a film and TV teacher to join their team!

Job role:
You will be leading filmmaking workshops with children from 6-18 years creating material that can ultimately be screened in a local cinema and shared online.
You will ideally have some experience working with children and young people and have a strong background making short films.
PQA will need you have have an Enhanced DBS which can be arranged if successful in the interview.

Outreach & Communications Worker – Independent Documentary Screening Tour (2026)
Unsolicited Films is seeking a Freelance Outreach and Communications Worker to support audience engagement for a small-scale UK screening tour planned for 2026. The project centres on a completed 57-minute independent documentary by Glasgow-based filmmaker Zac. The tour will take place across selected UK independent cinemas, arts venues and community spaces, with dates still flexible. This is a fully remote, email-based role.
About the role
The Outreach and Communications Worker will focus on connecting the film with relevant local audiences and organisations. This includes contacting community groups, arts collectives, film clubs, student societies, grassroots cultural networks, independent media and other niche communities that may resonate with the themes of the documentary. No on-site duties or technical work are required.
Hours and fee
This freelance contract requires approximately 25–30 hours of work delivered flexibly over 8–10 weeks (around 3 hours per week).
Fee: £1,800–£2,600 depending on experience.
This is equivalent to £65–£90 per hour, compliant with National Minimum Wage 2025.
Documentation and deliverables (required)
The role includes documented outreach with a shared contact log listing:
- organisations contacted
- dates of contact
- responses received
- confirmed support or collaborations
A short weekly progress update is required (bullet points are fine).
Final deliverables include:
- a complete contact spreadsheet
- outreach message templates
- a short summary of relevant audience groups for each city
Success in this role is defined by the clarity and quality of outreach work, not by ticket sales. Outreach must demonstrate genuine, consistent and targeted engagement.
Person specification
Strong written communication, clarity and reliability. Confidence contacting organisations by email. Familiarity with grassroots arts, community culture or independent film is helpful but not required. Prior experience in outreach, comms, PR or audience development is welcome but not essential. Ability to work independently and stay organised is key.

Programme Manager (Discover! Creative Careers)
Discover! Creative Careers (DCC) is a government-funded, industry-led programme providing specialist information, advice and guidance to young people aged 11–18, as well as those who support their career decisions. Delivered by ScreenSkills in partnership with more than 30 organisations across 12 creative industry sub-sectors, DCC brings together industry, education and careers professionals to offer meaningful encounters with employers throughout the year. Our hybrid programme provides in-person and virtual activities, training for teachers and careers professionals, and a suite of online resources, including the popular Careers Finder. It is the only platform to bring every creative sub-sector together, with content created or informed entirely by industry partners. Each November, our flagship event Discover! Creative Month connects thousands of young people with hundreds of workplaces, offering hands-on experiences and insights into the creative industries.
For 2025–26, DCC has received further funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to continue and significantly expand its work, with a target of 100,000 engagements. This expansion includes several new strands:
- Work Experience Pilot for Year 10 and Year 11 (England)
- Sector-based Work Academy Programmes (SWAPs) for ages 16–24 (England)
- Programme expansion across Scotland and Wales
Since launching in 2018, DCC has supported more than 150,000 children and young people through talks, workplace encounters, lesson plans and industry-informed resources. This year, we aim to reach an additional 100,000 young people.
The Programme Manager (Discover! Creative Careers) will work closely with the Head of Discover! Creative Careers, the Senior Programme Manager and the Senior Careers Manager to March 2026 to deliver specific programme strands.
Contract: Fixed Term to 31st March 2026. Full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £43,000 - £45,000 per annum
Reports to: Head of Discover! Creative Careers
Location: ScreenSkills London, Hybrid (min 2 days a week in the office)
Key responsibilities:
Working alongside the Head of Discover! Creative Careers, the Senior Programme Manager, and the Senior Careers Manager, the Programme Manager will:
- Support on three DWP Sector Based Work Academy pilots confirmed for early 2026, creating opportunities for 16–24-year-old young jobseekers via Job Centres.
- Lead a pilot programme enabling Job Centres to deliver local training in creative industry areas (target: 5 Job Centres × 20 participants = 100 beneficiaries).
- Collaborate with the national Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) team to deliver two webinars (target: 150 beneficiaries total) and produce short content clips for the website.
- Oversee the delivery of the remaining Discover! Creative Careers eLearning modules, in partnership with an external project manager and a freelance content writer. This will include modules for careers advisors and teachers in Scotland, Wales and Yorkshire and Humber, as well as adapted versions for young people in those regions.
- Provide support for the Next Generation Creatives work experience pilot, delivered by Mission Accomplished. This will include working closely with the delivery team, liaising with industry partners around the country, and connecting registered schools with workplace opportunities.
In addition, the Programme Manager will:
- Contribute to budgeting for resources and training.
- Work closely with the Senior Programme Manager, Communications Managers (Discover! Creative Careers), Programme Administrator and Programme Assistant.
- Support the Head of Discover! Creative Careers with reporting to DCMS and the management of the independent programme evaluation.
- Report to the Head of Discover! Creative Careers and assist with any required reporting to DCMS.

About the role
The receptionist is crucial for creating a positive first impression and ensuring smooth daily operations. They support all teams across the London studio, managing reception duties and assisting with administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming staff and new starters to the studio.
- Greeting visitors and notifying relevant parties promptly.
- Monitoring and controlling access to the studio. Enforcing security protocol for external guests and compiling all necessary paperwork for access control.
- Maintaining clean, organised reception, conference and screening areas.
- Manage refreshments, working lunches and keep a comprehensive inventory.
- Act as appointed first aider, fire marshal and key holder for the building, including responding to alarm call outs as and when required.
- Answer and forward phone calls professionally.
- Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, parking, mail and dog logs.
- Manage access to the studio, including any parking and specific limited access arrangements.
- Assist with in-house events as needed.
- Report facilities issue promptly.

ScreenSkills is the industry-led strategic skills body for the UK screen industries. As experts in career development for the screen sector, we offer a portfolio of training, programmes, events, free e-learning and other career resources to support the development of technical and professional skills across all career stages and for people from every background in every Nation and Region.
We use research and data to identify skills gaps and shortages which informs the investment in high-quality and inclusive training programmes made by our five Skills Funds: Animation, Children’s TV, Film, High-End TV and Unscripted TV. Role purpose:
We are seeking two HETV Skills Fund Council Members who work for a production company in any genre of HETV with a good understanding of the skills needs of the workforce, and employers in the sector. Ideally, we are seeking one of the members to have business and legal affairs expertise.
Council members have delegated responsibility from the Board of Trustees in line with the Terms of Reference for overseeing the administration of the Fund, advising on the appropriate investment, development and delivery of training for the sector which forms the Operating Plan for the Fund.
The Council is responsible for discussing, reviewing and approving in detail the Fund’s Operating Plan, which is reviewed and updated annually. They also review the Fund’s finances to ensure resources are used appropriately and oversee the risk management of Fund activities.
Councils meet three to four times per year. The agenda and related papers are issued in advance of the meeting and Members are asked to allocate sufficient time to review these ahead of the meeting, so they can fully participate.
On an annual basis, the Council also review ScreenSkills’ strategic objectives and, via the Council chair, advise the Board on how to ensure that the strategy continues to deliver for the beneficiaries of the Fund.
Council Members have collective responsibility. This means that members always act as a group and not as individuals.
As a Council member, you are personally responsible for:
- Acting as a champion for the HETV Skills Fund and ScreenSkills.
- Advocating for the importance of skills.
- Attending the required number of Council meetings a year.
- Committing additional time to support ScreenSkills’ work when necessary.
- Declaring any conflict of interest in accordance with the Conflicts of Interests Policy.
The Council is made up of production company representatives from across the UK so we encourage applicants from all Nations and English regions. We are looking for individuals willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role and can broaden the diversity of thinking within our Fund Councils.

- Fund Council Members, Fund Council Chair, Fund Lead, CEO, Finance Director, Board Chair, Board Members (as required)
Commitment:
- 3-year term (which can be renewed for a second term)
- Attendance at Council meetings – either in person or online (3 or 4 per year)
