The primary purpose of the MMA Youth Worker role is to engage, inspire, and support young people through the discipline of Mixed Martial Arts. This role blends technical coaching with youth work principles to promote physical fitness, self-discipline, emotional resilience, and positive behaviour. The MMA Youth Worker will create a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where young people can build confidence, form healthy relationships, and develop essential life skills through structured MMA sessions and ongoing mentoring.
To work at Legacy, all applicants must be over the age of 18. To work with our senior members who are aged 13+, applicants must be over the age of 21.
Hours: Part time; 5-7pm Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
Salary: £20-£25 ph

As a Trustee, we ask that you act in the best interests of the Youth Zone, exercising the same duty of care that a prudent person of business would in looking after the affairs of someone whom he/she had responsibility. Act as a group and not as an individual.
GENERAL DUTIES OF ALL TRUSTEES
• Ensure that the Youth Zone complies with charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations
• Ensure that the Youth Zone pursues its objectives as defined in the OnSide DNA and other provisions as outlined in the OnSide Network Agreement and in the overall Youth Zone Strategy and Business plans
• Ensure that the Youth Zone applies its resources wisely and applies ‘best value’ principles
• Contribute actively to the board of trustees’ role in giving firm strategic direction to the Chief Executive in setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
• Contribute actively to Board Meetings and other appropriate events/Youth Zone activities
• Safeguard the reputation and values of the Youth Zone • Ensure the financial stability of the Youth Zone
Sports Coach Youth Worker
Sport and Fitness, alongside the Arts and Youth Work, is at the heart of Legacy’s offer to young people. The sports and outdoor offer at Legacy is wide ranging and as a member of the Sports team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme of new and engaging activities that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, and developmental. You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of a single sport, or range of sports activities to young people, as well as facilitating taster sessions, competitions and challenges which build young people’s engagement, skills and fitness levels which fostering a culture of fun, relationship building and opportunities for young people.
You will coach and develop teams and support volunteer sports coaches. Within the Sports Team, we are looking for talented sports coaches to become part of a team with a wide range of skills, who are also passionate about working with young people. Ideally, you will have experience, of one or more level 2 specific coaching qualifications, from a National Governing Body.
Hours:
Outside MUGA Pitch – offering a variety of multisport, mainly football coaching
- Thursday 3.45-8.15 – Junior club members aged 8-12
- Saturday 11.45-3.15 – Junior club members aged 8-12

Weekend Cook & Catering Assistant
The purpose of the role as Weekend Cook and Catering Assistant is to prepare and cook healthy, cultural & tasty meals from our ‘Big Love Kitchen’ to 100+ young people and their families on our Sunday Beyond Limits SEND session for young people with additional needs. Healthy, creative and fun food is at the core of what we offer, creating an opportunity for young people and their families/support workers to eat together. Young people attend sessions and can engage in a wide variety of activities whilst being able to purchase a hot meal for just £1 as well as a variety of tuck shop snacks!

Digital and Creative Media Youth Worker
Creative Arts, alongside sports Youth Work, is at the heart of Legacy’s offer to young people. The creative arts offer at Legacy is wide ranging and as a member of the arts team, you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme of new and enriching activities that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, and developmental. You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of a multi-media, as well as facilitating taster sessions, competitions and challenges which build young people’s engagement and skills which fostering a culture of fun, relationship building and opportunities for young people.

Within the arts Team, we are looking for talented arts youth workers to become part of a team with a wide range of skills, who are also passionate about working with young people. Ideally, you will have experience, of one or more digital or creative media streams.

Hours: Friday 4.45-9.15pm with senior members aged 13-19 years

School Engagement Youth Mentor
Legacy Youth Zone is a vibrant, inclusive space where young people can grow, thrive, and feel supported. We work in partnership with local schools and Reedham Children’s Trust through the School Engagement Programme, which supports students who would benefit from additional guidance by providing mentoring both in school and at the Youth Zone, where they can access a wide range of extracurricular activities to help build confidence. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Youth Mentor to join our School Engagement Team. The successful candidate will deliver one-to-one and group mentoring sessions with identified students during school hours and continue this support at Legacy Youth Zone. You will act as a positive role model, helping young people to develop confidence, emotional resilience, and a strong sense of purpose.
