We are looking for a proactive, organised and people-focused People Coordinator (Volunteers) to join our People team. In this vital role you will play a critical part in delivering a professional, effective and efficient service across the charity ensuring our volunteers feel supported and valued throughout their journey with us.
With a clear focus on the full volunteer lifecycle — from onboarding to offboarding, our successful applicant will be the first point of contact for all volunteer-related queries, providing excellent customer service to both managers and volunteers. They will ensure our volunteers feel connected, supported and appreciated from the moment they join us to the moment they leave. By delivering excellent coordination, clear communication and reliable administration, they will help to ensure that we provide a first-class volunteer experience that empowers individuals to make a meaningful contribution to our cause. Flexibility in this role is essential, as they will occasionally need to provide cover and support across the wider People Coordinator team.
They will;
- Work with the wider Woodgreen team to develop, implement and continuously improve the volunteer onboarding experience.
- Regularly review and update volunteer policies, handbooks, agreements and People Hub content.
- Be an expert on communicating and advising new volunteers on policies, safeguarding and relevant information to ensure compliance requirements are met.
- Support with the coordination of all stages of the volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, induction, training, recognition, engagement, and offboarding.
- Maintain accurate data in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and volunteer databases.
- Act as a first point of contact for volunteer queries, providing timely and supportive responses, triaging to other team members where necessary.
- Uphold best practice in volunteer management, promoting an inclusive and positive culture.
- Monitor volunteer feedback and support continuous improvement.
If you have a Level 3 vocational qualification (CIPD or equivalent) or relevant experience working with volunteers and are;
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about volunteer engagement and creating positive experiences.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable using HR and volunteer management systems.

This is a full time, permanent, hybrid position with the expectation that the successful candidate will work approximately 2 days a week from our Godmanchester site.
In addition to a starting salary of £25,553 per annum, you will receive;
- 36 days annual leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to a maximum of 40 days after five years

We’re seeking an energetic, people-centred Recruitment Coordinator (Volunteers) to help us grow and sustain a diverse and committed volunteer workforce. In this hands-on, outreach-focused role our successful applicant will be out and about: talking, listening and connecting with people from all walks of life. Their goal is to make volunteering with Woodgreen accessible, inclusive and appealing, ensuring that our shops and wider charity are supported by the people and skills they need, now and in the future.
They will;
- Build strong community connections to generate awareness and interest in volunteering – including with colleges, job centres, community groups, clubs and local networks.
- Attend and represent Woodgreen at volunteer fairs, events, and local initiatives to promote shop-based volunteering.
- Support shops to develop and implement localised recruitment activity, using community insights and creative approaches.
- Develop and deliver outreach activities that raise awareness of volunteering opportunities and inspire people to get involved.
- Tailor recruitment approaches to reflect the motivations, barriers and expectations of today’s volunteers.
- Work closely with shop managers and volunteer teams to ensure an effective and positive onboarding experience.
- Monitor and report on recruitment trends and community engagement activity, identifying opportunities and challenges.
In addition, they will play a key role in expanding Woodgreen’s corporate volunteering opportunities, collaborating closely with our Partnerships team to develop meaningful, mutually beneficial opportunities for businesses to get involved.

- Experienced in volunteer recruitment, community engagement or a similar role.

This is a full time, permanent, hybrid position with the expectation that the successful candidate will work across the full Woodgreen Retail Estate (including our Head Office in Godmanchester) as required. It is important to note that some weekend working may be required in this role for which time off in lieu will be provided.

As Assistant Shop Manager at our Kings Lynn Charity Shop you will work as part of our shop management team as they continue to strive for excellence. Located in the heart of the historic port and market town of Kings Lynn, our community-supported charity shop is surrounded by charming, cobbled streets and rich local culture.
Taking full responsibility in the Shop Managers absence, alongside your own designated tasks our Assistant Shop Managers will;
- maintain continual high standards of shop presentation, back of house operations and customer service.
- present and maintain the highest standards of shop and window merchandising and visual layout.
- recruit, train, motivate, manage and support the creation and development of a loyal and engaged team of volunteers.
- Ensure maximum stock availability through the processing of donation received in the shop
- be responsible for compliance, record keeping and cash handling
- be a brand ambassador for Woodgreen to work with the local community to raise awareness and engagement for our cause.
If you have;

With a salary of £6,879.60 per annum (equivalent to £12.60 per hour) this opportunity has a working pattern of 10.5 hours a week working on a Monday and Sunday. It is important to note that as Woodgreen Charity Shops are open 7 days a week there may be the opportunity, from time to time, to provide cover to support holiday or absences for your Shop Management team or area should you wish to do so.
This competitive salary will be complemented by;
- Pro rata equivalent of 36 days annual leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to a maximum of 40 days after five years
