We currently have freelance opportunities for qualified fitness instructors.
Are you a fitness instructor looking for extra work?
We’re looking to build our bank of freelance fitness instructors for potential class cover and future regular sessions at Healthworks.
If you hold relevant class certifications (e.g. Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Boxercise, etc.) and have up-to-date personal insurance.
Our rates are £25 per hour, depending on the session.

Children and Families Practitioner
18.5 hours per week
£25,069 per annum (pro rata)
Fixed term to March 2027 with a view to extend
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, proactive, and efficient individual to join Healthworks promoting the wellbeing of the community, encourage healthy lifestyles and to promote the uptake of children and family services within Newcastle.
About Us
Healthworks is a national award winning charity working with disadvantaged local communities to tackle health inequalities and improve their health and wellbeing through social prescribing. Based in Newcastle, but working across the region for over 30 years, our patron is Professor Michael Marmot. Our work has been recognised by a King’s Fund/GSK award for our work improving the physical and mental health of people across the North East of England.
We work in partnership with NHS and Local Authority colleagues and communities in many sectors to devise cost effective solutions that secure sustainable health impacts for many conditions that inhibit quality of life.
The Role
You will;
- Provide information, advice and guidance about childhood and family services in venues throughout the area
- Deliver a range of sessions across the city for children and families including but not limited to Sensory Baby, Boogie Bairns, Messy Play, Cook Play Learn
- Work alongside our partnership organisations to give every child the best start in life
- Sign post families to the wider Family Partner offer within the area where appropriate
- Support volunteer involvement, particular encouraging parents to engage with the local activities to enable them to have their say in how services are shaped and delivered.
- Provide relevant sessions using group work skills to encourage people to gain confidence, increase self-esteem and develop their skills
- Contribute to and support the programme of children and young people activities across the city
About You
You will be an enthusiastic individual, motivated to use your skills to make a real difference for our clients and families. You will be passionate about supporting the rights and needs for children and their families / carers.
