Senior Research Assistant - 22.5 HPW - FTC for 9 Months
We are seeking a research assistant with expertise in nutrition to join our team to work on the Cam2Cook project funded by successfully securing Innovate UK funding (August 2025). The post will be fixed term for @9.5 months. The project focuses on the further development by COAX Creative and trailing to launch of an AI assisted app focussed on assisting people to use store cupboard and fridge/freezer items to prepare meals meeting cultural, budgetary and nutritional requirements. The project is collaborative and will involve working with the external partner Healthbox a community interest company and Coax creative who are developing the app and the expert reference group members as well as people from the communities the app is intended to serve. This includes those living with multiple disadvantages and different ethnic groups/underserved communities ensuring the app is fit for purpose for people from these diverse communities and bringing the app to the product launch stage.
This is an opportunity for someone who is wanting to work part-time in a rapidly developing field of nutrition and gain hands on experience with research development, data collection and analysis and writing up/dissemination.
You will work with both internal and external stakeholders as well as project partners to help shape the development of the features of the app and its usability. Some travel will be required to access potential clients for the app in more diverse areas.
Previous experience of data collection and analysis and working with clients/participants is essential and a good working understanding of a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The post will be advertised shortly on the Chester website.

Applicant information
You will need be a Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register, educated at least to degree level. Experience and a teaching qualification, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education or Fellowship of Advance HE (FHEA) is desirable. You will have a high level of clinical competence and credibility in a relevant area of expertise.
The faculty will support new members of staff to gain appropriate qualifications and is keen to support ongoing academic and professional development. We also offer a robust mentorship programme for new academic staff.
The faculty has three education centres: Warrington Campus; Marris House Birkenhead, and Wheeler Campus, Chester, with an expectation of some travel between sites, but the successful applicant would predominantly be based at Chester.
