About the role

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring Parkinson's UK is compliant with regulatory standards, charity law, and data protection legislation,

You'll oversee the charity's Risk Management Framework and manage the internal audit contract and delivery plan. You will also support the Chief Finance and Operating Officer and work closely with the Company Secretary to ensure efficient governance and provide expert advice on compliance to support the charity's strategic development and growth.

As the designated Data Protection Officer for Parkinson’s UK, this role will work with heads of department and the Executive Leadership Team to ensure that staff and volunteers are supported in how to comply with the legislation.

What you'll do

• Offer guidance on risk, governance, data protection, and compliance to Parkinson’s UK, enhancing awareness and developing a compliance culture across the organisation.

• Lead the Risk and Assurance team, including the governance support and compliance functions.

• Manage and improve the Data Protection and Information Governance environment, collaborating with technology teams to ensure infrastructure and tools are compliant, while staying updated on legal changes.

• Lead the internal audit function (outsourced)

• Lead the development of our Risk Management Framework, with clear definition of strategic and operational risks. Report to ELT and trustees on risk management. Ensure appropriate mitigations are in place, including appropriate insurance coverage.

What you'll bring

• Significant experience of advising on charity and data protection law.

• Experience of advising on data protection in a fundraising charity context

• Experience of working with regulators such as the ICO, Charity Commission, and Fundraising Regulator

• Experience of creating and implementing organisational policies

• Experience of developing, implementing and managing a Risk Management Framework

• Experience of engaging with internal audit providers on developing, delivery and completion of internal audit

We’re recruiting for a Senior Individual Giving Officer to join our team. We proudly raise money to help improve life for people with Parkinson’s and the people in their lives. Our work helps to fund everything from promising research, to providing personalised support for everyone with Parkinson’s, to campaigns fighting for better support for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.

About the role 

You’ll be working on IG digital fundraising campaigns and improvement projects, leading this strategic area of fundraising, to engage and inspire people to donate. And you’ll make it as easy as possible for supporters to choose the way they want to give. You’ll be part of a team that champions and supports each other, and is innovative in a changing fundraising and external environment to achieve our annual income target of over £5 million.

As a team, we use analysis and insight to deliver a variety of direct marketing activities that recruit new donors and ensure everyone can see the impact of their kind contribution.

In this role, you will manage digital fundraising operations projects to optimise and improve digital fundraising content and journeys. When opportunities arise, you will lead on digital fundraising campaigns to acquire and retain new supporters and provide the best possible online experience.

What you’ll do:  

• Support the Individual Giving Manager (IGM) to help set strategic objectives, monitor income and expenditure using data analysis to inform and improve the individual giving programme

• Plan, create and manage digital IG fundraising campaigns and lead the digital fundraising strategic area within IG to maximise income

• Work with the Individual Giving Officers (IGO), delegating work as appropriate and championing their personal development. There may be an opportunity to line manage an Individual Giving Officer in the future

• Use digital tools such as email marketing platforms, digital acquisition platforms, website analytic tools and google sheets to manage insight-led journeys, communications, and to analyse basic performance data to inform and improve decisions from acquisition to conversion

• Integrate the IG digital fundraising programme into Fundraising & Experience Directorate activities and support the overall Parkinson’s UK strategic plan

What you’ll bring:

• Strong experience of managing IG digital fundraising activity with substantial income and expenditure budgets

• Proven success in donor or customer acquisition and retention through digital marketing

• Substantial experience of creating engaging and inspiring online materials in support of direct marketing campaigns

• Strong experience of using CMS and email platforms, ideally Marketing Cloud

• Experience working with PPC, digital ads and social media to acquire donors

• Facilitate health and care service redesign and improvement projects in collaboration with clinicians, Parkinson’s UK staff and people living with Parkinson’s and drawing on the principles of co-production

• Build relationships to influence service improvement across the England South West region, and support the development of a vibrant national network

• Maximise participation in the UK Parkinson's Audit and relevant surveys

• Support health & care services to develop and implement service improvement plans, using the results of the UK Parkinson's Audit as a lever

• Promote the Excellence network funding opportunities, providing support where appropriate with the development of business cases and grant applications

What you’ll bring

• Experience and expertise in service redesign and effecting change within health and/or social care in the South West region

• Knowledge of health and care structures and commissioning across the South West region

• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and manage successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior clinicians

• Experience in the use of quality improvement and project management tools

• Ability to negotiate and influence, with strong report writing and presentation skills

About the role 

This exciting opportunity will be in a busy fundraising events team while providing general administrative support on a range of 3rd party running, challenge and cycling events across the UK and abroad.

You’ll be assisting with the delivery of income enquiries and events management support to deliver a wide range of event activity across the portfolio.

There are two Events Assistant roles available; one on a permanent contract, and one on a 9 month fixed term contract.

What you’ll do:  

• Manage and deliver 3rd party sporting events in order to achieve agreed income, expenditure and profile targets

• Work with the Running Events Manager to plan and develop 3rd party sporting events in line with the 3rd party Events Strategy

• Work with the Senior Events Coordinator to manage event budgets ensuring that income and expenditure is kept within agreed limits

• Work with the Senior Events Coordinator to benchmark and evaluate the 3rd party sporting events in accordance to the event evaluation process

• Work with the Senior Event Coordinator to create stewardship communications across a range of channels

What you’ll bring:

• A keen interest in events management, particularly fundraising events

• Ability to multitask in a busy team environment

• Ability to manage own workload effectively, dealing with conflicting priorities and meeting deadlines

• Excellent communication and written skills

• Desire to learn about databases including reporting and analysis

• Desire to learn about digital fundraising and email platforms
