Swimming Teacher - Multiple Vacancies
This is a permanent position with set working hours and days. We are looking for swim teachers to cover: Monday to Friday 4pm - 6pm
Do you have an STA Award or Certificate or a Swim England Level 2 Qualification in Teaching Swimming, and experience of teaching a diverse customer base? Do you have the passion to teach swimming?

People of all abilities and ages are welcome at our centres, and as a Swimming Teacher you will run sessions effectively and efficiently, drawing on your knowledge of teaching best practices, and your passion for ensuring students reach their full potential, at every step. You’ll need to be flexible in your approach to teaching, and your approach to working hours, to suit the needs of the business.
- You will be responsible for preparing lesson plans and a comprehensive scheme of work that meets the requirements of Swim England Learn to Swim Programme. Undertaking sessions according to the programme timetable, and ensuring classes commence and finish at the designated times.
- You will need the natural ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with our customers and potential customers, putting people at ease, with a real “can-do” attitude; nothing is too much hassle for you!
- You will comply with the Swim England Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct at all times, and ensure all concerns of a child safeguarding nature are referred in a timely and appropriate manner, in accordance with Fusion’s Safeguarding policy.
- You will ensure all lessons are delivered safely and effectively, delivered to a standard that complies with regulations and guidance.
- You will be passionate about always looking for ways to improve our swim lesson programme and better our service to swimmers and customers

What you will do:

This is a results driven role, where your natural ability to influence and persuade will shine through.
To be successful as a Customer Service Advisor you’ll need flexible and effective verbal communication, numerical and written skills, as you’ll be swiftly and accurately processing transactions, and ensuring the reception area and entry to the Centre is managed effectively and efficiently. Preferably you’ll have experience of delivering first-class customer service, and achieving KPIs in a target-driven sales environment. Some of the main tasks and responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):
- Responsible for offering a consistent and outstanding level of customer service
- Building rapport and trust with customers by engaging with them, and actively anticipating and subsequently meeting their needs
- Achieve KPIs and sales targets set by RCRM and central support
- Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the front-of-house area; monitoring and controlling entry to the centre
- Ensure all customer sales and bookings are managed correctly, assisting customers in their choices; whilst positively and proactively driving retention
- Assist in the development of programming through innovative ideas and initiating actions to meet the demands of the customers
- Manage complaints in a sensitive manner, promptly and politely in accordance with company guidelines, escalating where necessary to the relevant people
- Process and prepare food and drink orders, assisting with service when required
- Present and sell food and drink stock to customers in a friendly, efficient and timely manner, in line with established company and legislative standards.
- Fill and replenish food and drink displays, ensure all food and drink displays are presented, merchandised and priced in line with established standards
- Receive, store and rotate food and drink deliveries
- Conduct basic record keeping tasks, such as temperature checks and wastage records

The Role:
You will be carrying out a range of therapies and will be tasked in working towards an individual revenue target. In return for achieving your target there is a generous bonus to be achieved. About You:
A successful Spa Therapist will enjoy working with people and possess excellent standards of customer care and a positive ‘can do attitude’. Become a Gym Instructor at Fusion:
The gym can be an intimidating place and as a Gym Instructor for Fusion Lifestyle, you will warmly welcome all customers, ensure equipment is used safely, and encourage users by devising and delivering fitness assessments and programs, all whilst keeping the gym clean and inviting.
You will also deliver group exercise classes when required, so you will need experience of delivering exercise classes using first class customer service to a diverse client base.

- Level 2 qualification in Fitness Instructing

Other responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):
- Act as Duty Manager as-and-when required
- Ensuring a welcoming front of house presence is delivered at all times
- Assuming responsibility for centre operations on a shift rotation basis, including key holding, opening and/or closing the centre
- Coordinating the efficient and effective deployment of the team
- Undertaking fitness instruction, reception, pool supervision and /or membership sales, as required
- Cash reconciliation and banking duties
- Assisting in the development and management of a well-balanced activity and event programme
- Delivering induction, training, appraisals, development and performance management of staff where required
- Conducting team briefings (Huddles)
- Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with our customers and potential customers

- You will need the natural ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with our customers and potential customers, putting people at ease, with a real “can-do” attitude; nothing is too much hassle for you!
- You will comply with the Swim England Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct at all times, and ensure all concerns of a child safeguarding nature are referred in a timely and appropriate manner, in accordance with Fusion’s Safeguarding policy.
- You will ensure all lessons are delivered safely and effectively, delivered to a standard that complies with regulations and guidance.

Become a Gym Instructor at Fusion:

Fusion’s Exercise on Referral Instructors help our customers understand the importance of exercise to improve their health. As you'll be working full time hours, (40 hours per week minimum), you will need to be flexible and adaptable, with the availability to work a varied rotation of shifts; which will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and some public holidays.
Fusion’s Assistant Managers:Our Assistant Managers keep our centres running with day-to-day management and assisting in the overall management of the Centre as well as deputising for the General Manager in their absence. Our Assistant Managers also drive membership sales and secondary revenue, control expenditure, champion health and safety and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures; all whilst promoting the highest levels of customer service and staff engagement!
What you will do:
Some of the main tasks and responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):
- Contribute to the delivery of Fusion’s vision, strategy and values
- Ensure that the centre financial targets and KPIs have been communicated to relevant team members, and that appropriate plans are in place to ensure targets are achieved
- Responsible for day-to-day management of the leisure centre, carrying out the Duty Manager role when on a duty management shift, which will include the facilitation of operational shifts
- Assist in delivering local sales and marketing plans for membership (and swim school for sites with pools)
- Continuously review the Centre’s fitness, group exercise, and other dry side programming (and wet side programmes for sites with pools)
- Implement, maintain and manage an effective system of controls throughout the centre, covering both financial and non-financial aspects of the business. Ensure revenue protection compliance and conduct weekly audits
- Support the preparation of annual service plans, financial plans and statistics
- Assist the General Manager in ensuring that all contracts, licences and documentation required for the safe and effective operation of the centre are in place and adhered to consistently
- Ensure the centre operating objectives and standards of performance are owned by the management team and employees
- Support the General Manager in leading and developing high performing teams through effective recruitment, people management, development, retention and succession planning strategies for the centre
- Ensure the centre is properly resourced, and staff are optimally deployed to deliver business objectives; personally providing emergency shift cover across the centre as required, and as qualified for
- Champion in role, lead and take personal responsibility for all hygiene, health and safety policy and procedure, resolving or escalating issues as appropriate
Essential Qualifications:
- First Aid at Work and AED qualification (essential*)
- Pool Plant Operator qualification (essential for sites with pools*)
- National Pool Lifeguard qualification (essential for sites with pools*)

Become a Gym Instructor at Fusion:
The gym can be an intimidating place and as a Gym Instructor for Fusion Lifestyle, you will warmly welcome all customers, ensure equipment is used safely, and encourage users by devising and delivering fitness assessments and programs, all whilst keeping the gym clean and inviting.
You will also deliver group exercise classes when required, so you will need experience of delivering exercise classes using first class customer service to a diverse client base.
To be successful in this role you will need an engaging and honest personality, with a natural ability to build strong relationships and put people at ease. Alongside a “can-do”, solutions focused attitude.
You’ll also need:
- Level 2 qualification in Fitness Instructing
- CIMSPA membership is essential within one month of employment
Some of the responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with our customers and potential customers
- Supervising activities in the Fitness Rooms and operating the equipment in a manner consistent with safe working practice
- Assisting in the implementation, marketing and administration of activities and healthy lifestyles
- Devising and delivering fitness assessments, programmes and testing, exercise prescription, GP referrals and specialist inductions, as and when required (following appropriate training)
- Supporting and assisting in sales and retention processes
- Maintenance of customer records and performing administration duties as required
- Maintenance of own mandatory qualifications, licensing and CPD/ training requirements
- Champion in role and take personal responsibility for all hygiene, health and safety policy and procedure
- Carry out testing and / or other hygiene, health and safety checks as needed, passing results immediately to the appropriate person and escalating potential issues promptly
- Safely support managing customer flow and expectation of waiting times and attendance across all areas of the centre
- Undertake all day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of the equipment and fittings, to the highest possible standards, bringing attention any faults or major repairs to the relevant team
- Proactively manage customer behaviour during the use of facilities to ensure highest possible levels of safety and enjoyment

The role of a Full Time Lifeguard
Lifeguards have one of the most important jobs at our centres, and that is keeping our customers safe in and around the water.
Fusion Lifestyle’s Full Time Lifeguards (Recreation Assistants), also perform other duties; such as cleaning assigned areas, setting up and breaking down various activities and events and conducting pool testing according to procedures. You will work a 40 hour week across varying rotated pattern of shifts, which will require some evening and weekend work.
