We are seeking to build a talent pool of highly experienced music practitioners and educators to join LIPA as Visiting Professionals across a range of music specialities. These roles support the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate provision and contribute to a dynamic, inclusive and industry-informed learning environment.
Visiting Professionals at LIPA bring current professional practice into the classroom, studio and rehearsal space, supporting students to develop creative, critical and professional skills aligned with contemporary music industries.

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) is recognised as a leading centre of excellence for creative learning and vocational training within the performing arts and creative industries. We are looking to recruit a Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer (maternity cover) who will be part of a small team of staff working with schools and colleges to provide outreach and fair access activities, which raise awareness of, and aspirations to, Higher Education and encourage applications to LIPA.
The post-holder will lead on the planning, coordination, and evaluation of LIPA’s key post-16 widening participation initiatives, including our Get Set residential summer school, a portfolio of activities with targeted partner colleges, a pre-audition phone call initiative and regional pipeline activities. These activities proactively aim to raise awareness of and support progression to Higher Education for prospective students from backgrounds that are underrepresented at university level.
The post-holder will also deliver and support a range of wider recruitment activities with schools and colleges, community groups and select organisations across the UK (and occasionally overseas), promoting LIPA directly among audiences such as prospective students, parents/carers, teachers and higher education advisers.
You will be a graduate with previous experience of designing, promoting, coordinating, and evaluating activities, as well as working with groups of young people. You will have excellent project management and organisational skills, strong written communication and presentational skills and be confident in dealing with a range of people. You will need to be an enthusiastic team player with the capacity to be flexible and think on your feet. Knowledge and experience of secondary education and/or Higher Education would be beneficial.

We are looking for the successful candidate to start in April/May 2026. This appointment will be subject to a DBS check.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant and Governance Administrator (Maternity Cover) to provide confidential and efficient support to the Principal/CEO and Executive Leadership Team. This is an exciting and challenging role for someone looking to work in a fast-paced and progressive environment. The post holder will be the first point of contact for all enquiries to the Principal/CEO and Executive Leadership Team (where appropriate) and manage all correspondence, diary, travel, expenses, and ad hoc projects, as delegated by the Principal/CEO and Executive Leadership Team. In addition, the postholder will pay a key role in the planning, organisation and delivery of institutional events such as Graduation, our 30th Birthday celebrations during 2026, and act as Clerk to Council and to institutional committees as appropriate.
What LIPA is looking for
The ideal candidate will have appropriate proven administrative experience of working in a complex, dynamic organisation and ideally experience of working in Higher Education administration. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills enabling effective communication at all levels within the institution and with external organisations and individuals. You will have strong organisation, planning and document management skills and experience of attending and recording minutes at meetings up to and including Board level is desirable. You will have a proactive and positive attitude, adaptability, and strong people skills to manage diverse stakeholders. An eye for detail, the ability to work independently and efficiently, and accurately under pressure to meet deadlines and to deal with conflicting demands and conflicting priorities, and a commitment to inclusive and progressive practice are all crucial to this role. You will have very good IT skills, specifically MSOffice. The ability to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality is essential.
You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification) or proven professional work experience. Experience of clerking meetings e.g., of working groups or Committees, and project administration skills and knowledge would be advantageous.

What you’ll do
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is a proactive, creative, and highly experienced marketing and communications leader with strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to support our ambitions for growth and strengthen our reputation.
Reporting directly to and working closely with the Director of Marketing & Student Recruitment, you will lead and line manage a team of three marketing professionals. You will shape, deliver and evaluate a reputation-led, digitally focused marketing, student recruitment and communications strategy. You will provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership across marketing, brand, communications and alumni engagement. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the marketing team, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative and creative culture.
- Ensuring the brand is strengthened and consistently represented across all campaigns and channels.
- Communicating effectively with internal audiences, partners and external stakeholders to support strategic objectives.
- Managing events and overseeing online and offline marketing and communications channels.
- Embedding robust briefing, campaign management and evaluation frameworks underpinned by insight and data.
- Ensuring a joined‑up, insight‑driven approach to marketing and communications through effective system use and clear communication.
- Taking a strategic, proactive approach to alumni relations and engagement, building strong relationships with a global community of over 8,000 graduates.
- Working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure all marketing, communications and engagement activity reflects organisational values and contributes meaningfully to strategic objectives.
Who we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification, with proven expertise in marketing, brand and communications, preferably gained within Higher Education, the Arts or a creative environment. A postgraduate or professional qualification would be advantageous.
You will be an inspiring, experienced leader with excellent communication and project management skills and a hands-on approach to delivery. You will bring strong expertise in digital marketing and CRM optimisation, combined with data‑driven decision‑making, a rigorous approach to performance measurement and process design, and exceptional attention to detail to ensure consistently effective, insight‑led and well‑managed marketing and alumni engagement activity.
