The Role
As our new Leisure Duty Manager, you’ll lead and motivate our leisure team, overseeing the smooth daily operations of our leisure facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage and develop multi-sport leisure services, driving new initiatives that enhance both member satisfaction and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as shift manager overseeing day-to-day operations of the facility
- Manage and lead staff to provide excellent customer service
- Coordinate facility programming and operational issues
- Ensure the safe, secure use of facilities and equipment by employees and users
- Enforce compliance with all financial, operational, emergency, contract, and Trust policies
- Support the Area Operations Manager to achieve operational excellence
About You

You’ll help to maintain the facility to the highest standards, assist in pool supervision, and provide excellent support and service to our visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise poolside areas, ensuring the safety of all users (must hold a valid NPLQ or be willing to obtain it)
- Set up and take down equipment for various activities and events

- Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance to keep the facilities safe and hygienic
- Support the Duty Manager and team in day-to-day operations

The Role

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons in line with ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming.
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of swimming sessions.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs and abilities of all participants.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and maintain administrative records as required.
- Promote water confidence, safety, and skill development in a supportive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the aquatic programme.
About You
We’re looking for a creative, proactive, and highly organised swimming teacher with experience in a similar environment. The ideal candidate will have strong people and communication skills, a confident and encouraging teaching style, and a genuine passion for helping individuals of all ages develop their skills and confidence in the water.
You will have:
- ASA Level 2 Swimming Teaching Qualification (or equivalent).
- Sound knowledge of the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming, including techniques and awards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, across Hyndburn Leisure Sites.
- Strong communication and excellent customer care skills.

Duties/main responsibilities include:
Based at Hyndburn Leisure Centre and Accrington Academy you will gain a broad range of experience-based knowledge of services provided within Hyndburn Leisure. As this role incorporates lifeguarding; a minimum swimming ability is required and you will be required to undertake a swimming test in addition to satisfying college assessments.

Key Responsibilities
- Delivering safe and effective one-to-one fitness programmesand inductions

About You

Job purpose:
- To build positive and effective relationships with customers, partners and colleagues
- To assist in the delivery of high-quality events
- To assist in setting up equipment for events and activities
- To assist effective stock management processes
- To prepare, take orders and serve food & beverages
- To clean bar and public areas before, during and after events
- To assist in maintaining the correct standard of hygiene
- To observe the correct implementation of licensing laws
- To ensure both opening and closing checklists are completed
- To ensure till and cash handling is in accordance with financial procedures shown in training
- To operate in accordance with the Trust’s compliance policies relating to Health and safety, Equal opportunities and customer care
