This is a fantastic opportunity to live and work in the Scottish Highlands and be part of a Christian Community providing excellent hospitality. As part of the Kitchen Team, Cooks prepare delicious home-cooked meals and baking for our guests and staff. You will be involved in all aspects of the kitchen: from helping to plan menus to receiving deliveries, serving guests and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene. You will also lead shifts and organise the kitchen team to ensure meals are served hot and on time.
You will be a role model for our Gap Year Team, helping them to learn new skills whilst also having the opportunity to grow and develop your own gifts.
You will have the opportunity to get involved in the wider ministry of the Centre, including our evening sessions with kids, and ministry teams serving on one of our events weeks and weekends (e.g. playing music, organising games / sport, etc.).
Previous experience in catering would be great, but we can provide training for the right person. You’ll need to be willing to get stuck in and work hard, but making people happy with healthy, tasty food is so rewarding!

Key Roles (Cook)
- Work alongside the Catering Manager to plan, prepare and serve delicious home-cooked meals to our guests and staff
- Ensure the smooth running of the kitchen across a shift, overseeing breakfast, lunch and evening meal services and leading the team of Assistant Cooks/Gap Years to efficiently carry out all kitchen tasks
- Lead the team by example in adhering to excellent food hygiene practices and safe provision for special dietary requirements
- Receive deliveries, maintain delivery records and ensure good stock rotation
- Lead the team to organise and operate the servery and wash up in an efficient manner, in accordance with guidelines
- Ensure the dining room, servery and kitchen are kept clean and tidy at all times
- Deliver high standards of friendly service and customer care
- To fully contribute to the spiritual life and ministry of the Centre.
Key Roles (Assistant Cook)
- Work alongside the Catering Manager (CM) and Cooks, helping to serve delicious home-cooked meals to our guests and staff
- Progress towards being able to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen across a meal service (breakfast, lunch or evening meal) and being able to lead the team of General Assistants/Gap Years to efficiently carry out all kitchen tasks for part of the working day under the direction/guidance of the CM/Cooks
- Adhere to excellent food hygiene practices and safe provision for special dietary requirements, under the direction/guidance of the CM/Cooks
- Assist the CM/Cooks with menu planning, recipe development and food ordering as required.
- Receive deliveries, maintain delivery records and ensure good stock rotation
- Organise and operate the servery/wash-up in an efficient manner.
- Ensure that the Dining Room, Servery and Kitchen are kept clean and tidy.
- Ensure that coffee break and lunchtime arrangements are made to provide for staff.
- Deliver high standards of friendly service and customer care
- To fully contribute to the spiritual life and ministry of the Centre.
Qualities, Qualifications & Experience
Cook and Assistant Cook:
- Well organised and able to work hygienically and tidily
- Punctual and able to arrive for shifts on time
- Able to work hard in a physical role that requires some lifting of heavy pans/boxes and long periods of standing
Additionally for Cook:
- Have a passion for good food and a desire to prepare and serve high quality, home-cooked meals and baking
- A good understanding of the basics of food prep (e.g. following recipes, using knives safely, able to present food nicely)
- Good attention to detail as well as the ability to see the bigger picture
- Able to work independently when necessary and also lead a team, helping to develop younger/less experienced staff members
We would also love for you to have:
- previous experience working in a kitchen or other catering environment
- previous experience of leading a team in some capacity (Cook role)
- a level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or above

The quality of our amazing grounds and buildings are a key part of the experience of our guests – and the skills, care and attention to detail that our maintenance team show in keeping the grounds and buildings looking great, working smoothly and meeting safety standards are central to this.
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to help oversee and deliver all aspects of buildings and grounds maintenance at our 65 bed / 20 acre residential adventure centre, and help develop and lead our maintenance team. As a Christian, you will be a role-model for the maintenance team and wider centre staff, having a discipling and mentoring input into their lives.

- Carry out building and facilities safety checks and tests as required and keep accurate records.

- Help ensure high standards of health and safety in the team / work place.

Essential Requirements
- A good working knowledge of working in an instructional department.
- Qualifications: RCI, BCAB Sheltered water coach, Summer ML, BC Trail Leader (L2), Archery GB Instructor. You do not need to have all of these, but a combination of several will be expected.

- To ensure that evidence of current experience and competence in outdoor activities is recorded in an up to date logbook and will oversee the keeping of logbooks by other instructors.
- To supervise and assist with the maintenance of outdoor education equipment and inventory.
- To recommend appropriate outdoor activity purchases or replacements and, once recommendations and approved by the Chief Instructor, place orders within the agreed budget.
- To keep up to date with current developments in outdoor education and liaise with professional bodies.

The Booking Officer is responsible for handling incoming enquiries and repeat bookings for the centre and will provide a seamless handover to operational departments by making sure that the contracting and pre-event planning processes are executed effectively. The role will involve close co-ordination with all departments and customers to ensure a consistent high level of service throughout each event. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, the Booking Officer will help with both proactive and reactive sales efforts in order to generate new business and to ensure a high level of repeat business.
Most of all we are looking for someone who has an ability to share the Christian heart behind what we do and the positive impact that the residential experience makes on guests will be essential in fostering these relationships. Networking and relationships will be a key skill as the candidate reaches out to potential guests, which will include schools, churches and other organisations.

Office team member (2 days)

- Manage and take full part in the smooth running of changeovers at the centre, timeshare and self-catering accommodation, ensuring areas are ready in the time allocated.
- Maintain an efficient, hygienic, and safe laundry.
- Organise and manage the housekeeping stores to ensure we have enough equipment, cleaning fluids and uniforms for the Housekeeping and Kitchen teams to operate.
- Keep up to date with the paperwork and record keeping associated with housekeeping.
- Accomplish deep cleaning targets set during close-down and maintenance periods.
Qualifications and Experience
- A mature and growing Christian faith
- Have good Word, Excel and Outlook IT skills
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with team members, while ensuring delivery of a high standard of work.

KEY ROLES
- Prepare food, serve meals and assist with kitchen duties as required by Catering Manager.

- Ensure that coffee break and lunchtime arrangements are made to provide for staff.

- To maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and food hygiene in the kitchen.
- Keep up to date with the paperwork and record keeping associated with catering.
- Have a working knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and COSHH.

Key Roles
- To be a team member, participating in the general running of the Centre, specifically instructing in the Outdoor Education programme to promote the Christian faith in line with goals and vision of the Trust.
- To participate as directed with instruction in outdoor activities.
- To ensure that proper safety precautions are operating within the group under instruction.
- To assist with the maintenance of the outdoor education equipment.
- To be responsible for particular areas of activity, equipment or storage as allocated from time-to-time.
- To take part in training as required, ensuring that the appropriate standards are upheld.
- To ensure that evidence of current experience and competence in outdoor activities is recorded in an up to date logbook.
- To ensure professional and skills development is maintained and developed through further logged practical experience, attending courses, reading and reflection all in one’s own time.
- To ensure that a continuity of the Centre’s spiritual programme is maintained while a group is taking part in activity programmes.
- To help with the supervision of the Centre and its guests: assisting with spiritual, social and recreational programmes as required.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: MTUK Rock Climbing Instructor, BCAB Paddlesport Leader, MTUK Hill and Moorland Leader, BC Trail Leader (Level 2), Snowsports Scotland L1/BASI L1. You do not need to have all of these, but a combination of several will be expected.
