Relief Support Workers - Basingstoke

We are currently looking to recruit Relief Support Workers. As a Step by Step Relief Support Worker you will work alongside our Support Workers and Managers to help to fill staffing gaps due to annual leave, sickness and vacancies. You will receive an induction and training to ensure that you have the required skills to fulfil the elements of the role.
Some (but not all) of the key responsibilities that will be included in this role are:
- Ensure that you keep young people's individual action plans updated, that their progress is monitored using an Outcomes Star as well as offering information, advice and guidance to support clients.
- Ensure that you form and maintain a professional relationship with young people, acting as a role model whilst conducting yourself within the realms of professional boundaries and adhering to a style of working that will enable the young people to achieve independence.
- To report all queries with a senior Step by Step member of staff and ensure that a full hand over is given at the end of your shift.
- Our services are staffed 24/7 so there will be a variety of shifts to chose from, these will include day shifts, lats shifts, weekend work, and 'sleep over' shifts. An additional £50 sleep over allowance is paid per sleepover shift.
The perfect candidate/s will possess a natural 'can do' attitude and have the desire to 'go the extra mile' for both the young people and Step by Step.

WHERE IS THE ROLE BASED?
Our Aldershot Foyer will be your base and having a car is essential for the role as you will be travelling around the areas that SBS operates in. The role will need to work flexibly, as part of the role there will be evening and weekend work.
WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?
Step by Step has an exciting role for a Community Fundraiser to join an experienced and well-established fundraising team. This is an existing role for Step by Step, with current community supporters. The role will need to steward these relationships as well as seek new ones. It would suit someone confident and engaging who likes to be out and about talking to people. Someone who is used to generating leads and stewarding relationships, this does not have to have been in the charity sector.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will be supporting fundraising and marketing to help drive income and raise awareness of Step by Step. You will be working alongside an established and experienced team.
As part of the role you will be undertaking awareness raising activities for example, attending county shows, conferences, village fetes and community groups/meetings e.g. WI, Scouts and visiting schools.
Being proactive in looking for opportunities to attend events, raise awareness and funds. Raising awareness of what we do to encourage the community to support us but also raise awareness of our services for young people, you come into contact with. Work closely with the marketing team to help raise awareness of Step by Step. Encouraging people to support SBS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Speaking to community groups and asking them to donate to our work
- Encouraging someone to become a foster carer or host and passing that lead across
- Secure new community supporters
- Steward and manage existing community supporters to grow the relationship and secure continued support
- Identify, approach, and cultivate new community supporters such as schools, groups, clubs etc
- Represent the charity to a range of potential and current supporters through a variety of mediums including presentations and face-to-face meetings.
- Attend events to meet potential funders and promote the work of Step by Step
- Actively seek opportunities to raise awareness of Step by Step’s work
- Identify potential major donors or regular givers and pass them to the specialist fundraiser.
- Encourage interest in becoming a foster carer or a host, generating the lead before passing it across to the specialist team.
- Encourage people to volunteer for us and maintain that relationship with them effectively managing them.
- Monitor and report on fundraising targets.
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to plan and execute annual events, including corporate sponsorship opportunities.
STEP BY STEP IS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
- Someone who has excellent communication and networking skills.
- Experience in account management or a relationship development role
- An understanding of a CRM database would be advantageous.
- You will need a full driving licence, business class insurance and access to a vehicle for work.
- People who have worked in customer services, sales, account management or event management and want to use their skills for a charitable cause would be ideal for the role.

As a Step by Step Relief Support Worker you will work alongside our Support Workers and Managers to help to fill staffing gaps due to annual leave, sickness and vacancies. Some (but not all) of the key responsibilities that will be included in this role are:
- Ensure that you keep young people's individual action plans updated, that their progress is monitored using an Outcomes Star as well as offering information, advice and guidance to support clients.
- Ensure that you form and maintain a professional relationship with young people, acting as a role model whilst conducting yourself within the realms of professional boundaries and adhering to a style of working that will enable the young people to achieve independence.

As the first point of contact for all visitors, this is a key volunteering role which makes a huge contribution to the work of Step by Step Partnership. You will help us to provide a welcoming face to all visitors at our Aldershot Office and help us to manage enquiries. This is an unpaid volunteering role.
Duties:
- Welcome visitors with appointments, ensuring that they sign in/out
- Inform the Youth Support Worker or Counsellor when a young person arrives seeking advice, and keep the customer informed
- Take in the post and parcels
- Talk to the young people arriving needing support, so that the right support worker can be contacted
- Hand out care packages containing food and sanitary products.

The Supported Lodgings Placement Co-ordinator is responsible for managing their own diary, recruiting, assessing, and supporting host families, ensuring safe, high-quality placements for young people.
