- Hybrid working – 50% of working hours can be worked from home
- Above stat holiday allowance
- Royal London pension scheme

- Twenty-four-seven online GP access and counselling
- Medicash health cash plan
- Casual and inclusive dress code
Step by Step is a charity dedicated to supporting young people who are going through difficult times. Through accommodation, specialist support and personal development opportunities, we help more than one thousand young people aged eleven to twenty five each year to build brighter futures.
Our team is positive, energetic, and committed to preventing youth homelessness. Safeguarding is central to all that we do.
We are looking for a proactive, organised and adaptable Business Services Manager to oversee a wide range of operational functions that keep our charity running well.
This includes:
- Health and Safety Lead for the organisation, working with our external consultants
- Facilities and maintenance coordination
- Support GDPR
- Support IT working with the team and the external provider
- Supporting day-to-day business operations
- Ensure our reception area in HQ remains open, welcoming and well organised
A simple way to view the role is that our ‘operation’ supports young people; to support that amazing ‘operations team’, we already have dedicated HR and Finance teams, but everything else, from boiler breakdowns, dealing with insurance companies, ordering the tea and coffee and any new office equipment, sits within this role!
You will also lead a small and knowledgeable team so previous team leader or management experience would be helpful.
If you enjoy variety, problem-solving, making things work smoothly behind the scenes, and you love being helpful, this role could be a great fit.
We would especially welcome someone with experience and an interest in Health and Safety. We are also looking for someone confident working across multiple areas, who communicates well with colleagues and external partners and enjoys improving systems and processes. You must be willing to study for the IOSH Managing Safely qualification, if you don't already have it (SBS will pay for the qualification)
Previous roles could have included executive assistant, facilities manager, office manager, health and safety lead etc.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role therefore, you must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
