We are looking for an experienced digital communications professional to join Cherry Trees at an exciting time in the charity’s development, helping to grow its reach and outstanding reputation in supporting children and young people with complex disabilities.
This is a busy and varied role, working closely with the Communications & Marketing Manager and the Head of Fundraising and Communications to raise awareness, increase visibility, and support fundraising.
You will play a key part in delivering Cherry Trees’ digital content and developing our social media presence, finding innovative ways to expand our reach through engaging, audience-specific content. Responsibilities include supporting website content development, managing social media accounts, growing our following, and assisting with regular e-communications to external and internal audiences. You’ll liaise with children and families supported by the charity, as well as supporters, colleagues, volunteers, and trustees, to create impactful content.
In summary, this role connects Cherry Trees to the community - conveying the importance of our work, promoting our outstanding care, demonstrating its impact, and motivating people to support us through donations, fundraising, and volunteering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate social media platforms and manage content calendars.
- Create digital content, including video, photography and design assets.
- Design flyers and other printed assets to promote services and fundraising activities
- Manage e-communications and keep the Cherry Trees website updated, employing SEO best practices.
- Plan and draft written content, produce high-quality digital assets, and monitor/respond to comments and messages.
- Coordinate small paid social media ads and campaigns to build new audiences.
- Maintain the website, draft news posts, and update outdated content.
- Liaise with stakeholders - including supporters, staff, and service users - to share stories positively and supportively.
- Work on-site to collaborate across the organisation, ensuring photo and video content is collected and all digital communication requirements are met.
- Monitor and report on social media performance using analytics tools.
The successful candidate will have strong social media knowledge and experience, as well as experience of building reach and engagement across digital, printed or in-person communications. They need to be a collaborative team player, willing to learn from and work with staff from across the organisation, and possess the ability to multitask and juggle different projects and deadlines simultaneously. They will also have a passion for our cause - helping the families of children with complex disabilities get the support they need with the aim of preventing them from going into crisis.
