You will be working as a Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant at our 9 Bedded home where you will be supporting children and young people age 4 - 18 yrs with severe and complex care needs, Acquired Brain Injury, complex learning disabilities and associated behavioural challenges. Managing the health needs of the children forms a significant part of the service that we provide and are firmly committed to meeting the very unique and individual health care needs of our children.
Our home provides the children with a safe and loving home environment where we can promote them to achieve their goals and experience life.
Shifts: You will be working a mixture of Early shifts, late shifts, split shifts, long days and the rota does include alternate weekends, the rotas are across a full working week Monday-Sunday.

What we want from you…
Qualifications / Experience
Successful candidates will ideally need to have:
- You will need to have experience of working with children or adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, Autism, sensory impairment, and/or complex care needs. You will ideally be able to demonstrate experience of administering PEG feeds and using hoists for moving and handling.
- A background in nursing would be beneficial as you will be supporting children with complex health care needs.
- Car drivers are preferred as part of the role involves taking the children to appointments and to activities in the community.

About the Role
We have a "Home Manager" opportunity to cover 9 - 12 months Maternity Leave at our Children's Residential Home in Walsall Wood.
You will be managing our 9 Bedded home that supports children and young people age 4 - 18 yrs with severe and complex care needs, Acquired Brain Injury, complex learning disabilities and associated behavioural challenges. Key Responsibilities
To ensure that all children and young people have their needs met and their welfare promoted at all times.
To be responsible for the development, Leadership, coordination and support of the staff group.
To supervise the Team Leaders, enabling them to supervise and support the staff team.
To be responsible for all aspects of budgetary control relating to the home.
To ensure that effective records are maintained in accordance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and associated Regulations and Standards
To be responsible for ensuring that effective rotas are prepared and followed.
To be the lead for the on-call rota as and when required.
To work in conjunction with the Operations and Recruitment Manager to ensure staffing levels are maintained at all times in line with safer recruitment and Ofsted requirements.
To be responsible for coordinating referrals for the home and responding flexibly to requests for service, within the context of individual agreements and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
To Work effectively with Commissioning Partners, Police, LSCB, Public Health and Ofsted etc.
Qualifications Required:
Driving
License
Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People).
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or
equivalent qualification)
Experience:
A minimum
of 5 years’ experience of working with children and young people
A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people in a
senior role
Proven Outcomes with Ofsted
Detailed knowledge of Childcare regulations
Experience of learning difficulties, ASD and associated behaviours that
challenge and complex needs.

What you can expect…
You will be working as a Support Worker at our 7 bed children's residential home, situated in a residential area in Sedgley. The home is easily accessible via public transport from Wolverhampton. You will be providing care and support for children and young people up to the age of 18 with learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD and associated behavioural challenges, children accommodated at the home may also present with sensory impairments and minor physical disabilities. Our children and young people may have experienced trauma and/or neglect prior to coming into care. This role requires a high amount of energy, passion and willingness to go “above and beyond” for the young people we care for.
Our home is rated “Good” with Ofsted and prides itself on working with families and professionals, to provide opportunities for learning, increasing independence and more importantly FUN. You will be supporting the children both at the home and in the community.

THE ROLE:
You will be working as a support worker, in our 12 bedded Young Adults residential service in the heart of Derby Centre. You will be caring for Young Adults between the ages of 18 - 65. The service provides care and support for individuals who have severe learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex health needs who require 24-hour specialist care and support.
We aim to support with goals of achieving greater independence with supported living but also recognise that other individuals will require our long-term support and a permanent placement up to the age of 65.
You will be working Early shifts, late shifts, long days OR Waking Nights, and the rota does include alternate weekends. You will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to our young people.
Duties:
· To provide a safe, caring and consistent home life for each young person.
· To empower and enable young people to achieve their individual goals and full potential and strive towards building confidence and independence.
· To be a positive role model at all times.
· To ensure the respect and dignity of young people is maintained at all times
· To ensure the delivery of appropriate care and support is given with sensitivity.
· To promote equality and diversity.
· Support and cooperate with the effective and efficient operation of the service.
· Ensure all health and educational needs of the young people are met.
· To encourage and develop the life skills necessary to support independence.
· To plan and undertake relevant leisure activities with young people.
· Undertake keyworker/co-keyworker responsibilities and duties where necessary.
· To adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, legislative and reporting requirements.
· To actively participate in continuing professional development.
You must be able to demonstrate that you have:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 Diploma or QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or in Residential Care or equivalent, and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
You will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
