Being a Buddy or PA
You don’t need lots of qualifications to start your career in care. All you need is the right values.
About the Role?
Being a Personal Assistant (PA) or a child’s buddy, is a hugely rewarding job. Because you are employed by the service user, or the service user’s parent or carer, you will quickly become someone who is relied upon fully to help with care and support.
Each role is unique because everyone employing a PA or buddy has different needs, so it really is a case of no two jobs being the same. As a PA you may be supporting an adult with disabilities, or an older person. As a buddy you may be caring for a very young child or supporting a teenager.
You don’t need to have any experience of care work, your employer will provide training if required.
All you need to provide is the right attitude and want to make a positive difference.
