DOMESTIC ABUSE TRIAGE WORKER 25 Hours per week Scale 6, Pt 18 - 22 (£27,344 – £29,439 pro rata) JOB DESCRIPTION PRIMARY OBJECTIVES • To provide a specialist, pro-active, culturally appropriate, risk-led response that reflects the service users’ individual risks and needs with the aim of reducing risk and repeat victimisation. • To work with the Deputy Manager to progress the triage of referrals and to be the first point of contact for volunteers in the domestic abuse service. • To provide support to adult victims of domestic abuse to help them to re- establish their self-worth and empower them to make informed decisions about their future and their children’s future, if appropriate. • To work with the other team members to ensure continuity and effective delivery of the work. Job Description Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: Salary £27,344- £28,371 Location: Kirklees Area Duration: Fixed term to 31st March 2027 Overall Role Purpose The Adult Sexual Exploitation Partnership (ASEP) brings together eight organisations from across Yorkshire and the North East, to provide trauma-informed support for women who have been targeted for abuse, including sexual exploitation. ASEP partners also work together to influence policy change bringing together and amplifying the voices and experience of women who have been forgotten, left behind and judged. This role will provide support on a 1-1 basis to women experiencing sexual exploitation, facilitation of drop ins, and delivering therapeutic group work. The role will also require finding innovation solutions to help women address immediate needs and ‘crisis’, supporting women with disclosures of sexual violence and the police process. The ASEP partnership also works to influence change to policy and practice at local and national levels, to systemically improve outcomes for women who are experiencing/have experienced sexual exploitation. The caseworker’s role is about providing trauma-informed support on a one-to-one basis, as well as brokering solutions to help women address immediate needs and ‘crisis’ and supporting women through the process of giving evidence to trials. The work will drive and embed best practice in working with young women as they transition into adulthood. In this role you will be working as part of the WomenCentre team, you will report to a Line Manager at WomenCentre, and work alongside colleagues in similar roles in the other participating organisations across the region to share learning, participate with the project’s evaluation and wider events. ASEP Case worker November 25 Key Activities Provide intensive one to one support to women who have been groomed and sexually exploited, working to develop, embed and share best practice approaches to supporting women transitioning to adult services. Provide options of specialist support and develop creative ways to engage women with different experiences, inclusive of race, culture, and religion. Engage with additional women using ‘light-touch’ engagement with the project, e.g. through attending drop-ins. Deliver trauma-informed group work programmes. Work closely with the ASEP Policy Team to share and help develop new layers of data that help inform local and national policy change. Develop referral pathways for women in leaving prison and excellent relationships with Criminal Justice Services. Attend quarterly operational group meetings with the ASEP team from across the North East and Yorkshire. Contribute to regional and national events/conference to explore the needs of adult survivors of sexual exploitation and the ASEP projects responses. Support the delivery of specialist training for professionals coming into contact with survivors of sexual exploitation. Help improve local services understanding of the dynamics of sexual exploitation and the long-term impact. Complete regular risk assessments, risk management plans, including Safer Lives risk assessments tools for each case. To promote the project through external team meetings and presentations. The post holder may be required to attend and represent the ASEP Project at a range of operational and strategic meetings. ASEP Case worker November 25 Develop and maintain good working relationships with key organisations and their staff to support women to gain access to the services they require. The post holder will be required to complete reporting information, share case studies to assist the ASEP project manager in providing detailed reports to funders. Maintain in depth and up-to-date knowledge of all practice, procedures, and policies. To be aware of external service processes to safeguard individuals who are exposed to sexual exploitation, including DRAMM, MARAC and other multi-agency responses. To develop specialist knowledge in sexual exploitation through attendance at relevant training, learning events and conferences. To deal with feedback and suggestions and identifying practical solutions to any barriers. To undertake any relevant training. Supervision Received - Supervision will be provided by a WomenCentre Team Manager. External clinical supervision Responsibility for Assets, premises, equipment, petty cash. The post holder will have access to confidential and sensitive information. Internal Contacts Staff, volunteers, Trustees, senior management team, service users, children.
