Good standard of education
Higher Education or equivalent NVQ Level3, A level
or degree
Work Experience
Experience of providing direct front line support to
victims of domestic abuse or equivalent experience
in a linked sector (safeguarding, mental health,
substance misuse, homelessness etc.)
Experience of providing holistic and trauma-
informed casework
Experience of advocating on behalf of clients
Experience of project development
Experience of working within legislative frameworks
to develop, influence and encourage partnership
working.
Experience of writing case studies and contributing
to service evaluation
Experience of dealing with day to day project
enquiries from a wide range of people and
professionals
Experience of support staff and/or including
volunteers
Experience of working within an outcomes
framework service model
Special Knowledge
Have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse
including the impact on victims and their children
and the legal and practical remedies available to
these clients
Have an excellent understanding of the context of
DA services and best practice when working with
victims of domestic abuse
Understand relevant legislative requirements
involved in working with victims of domestic abuse
such as the Domestic abuse Act, and safeguarding
