We are looking for an experienced UCC Nurse to join our dedicated team at HJE.
Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our luxury private Hospital has an international reputation for providing the highest quality of care to patients and is unique in that all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.
The Urgent Care Clinic is open 7 days a week (8am to 8pm week days and 8am to 6pm weekend and BH).
Am I the right person for this UCC Nurse role?- Registered Level 1 Nurse with current NMC registration
- Diploma/degree in relevant subject or evidence of work at level 3
- Extensive experience on one of the following: General practice / minor illness, Walk in centre, A&E experience / minor injury unit
- Ongoing training and commitment to development
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment with a wide range of individuals at different levels
- Evidence of wide knowledge base and competency in clinical practice
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance issues and ability to establish systems in practice
- Understanding of legal an ethical issues / responsibilities relating to nursing practice and especially with regard to autonomous practice
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable
- Maintain a personal professional profile.
- Adhere to relevant professional and public sector codes of practice and ethics including the nursing and midwifery council code of professional conduct.
- Support the team in achieving objectives of the department.
- The post holder will maintain a professional appearance and attitude focusing on customer satisfaction and service.
- Participate in personal development planning and access training as appropriate or deemed necessary/ mandatory by the hospital to improve service provision.
- Demonstrate a high standard of clinical skills, including a broad understanding of changing health care services and provision within the private sector.
- Initially assess client’s needs to rule out life threatening injury or condition followed by a holistic approach to assessment of the needs of the client including presenting complaint.
- Clinical examination as requested by the doctor or on initial own undertaking of appropriate systems. e.g. musculoskeletal.
- In partnership with the doctor and patient devise and carry out appropriate treatment.
- Ensure a safe discharge, or provide all necessary paperwork and investigation results for a smooth referral or admission to hospital.
- Support Casualty First manager by participating in team building and development.
- Share in the efficient running of the department.
- Document an accurate and methodical account of the client’s journey and use departmental electronic records resources appropriately.

We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Manager to join our dedicated team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Fundraising Manager?- To help provide effective fundraising leadership, expertise and management to the Hospice and Hospital, ensuring fundraising income for the Hospice is maximised, including achievement of agreed income targets.
- To work closely with key stakeholders in helping ensure fundraising strategy, planning and delivery is effective and supports the Hospice’s needs as well as raising the profile of the Hospital where appropriate.
- To help maximise sustainable fundraising income for the Hospice, including the development, delivery and management of legacies, community fundraising initiatives, major donor development, grant making and foundations, lottery applications, nation-wide fundraising opportunities, trading and regular and committed individual giving including payroll, gift aid, tribute funds and supporter schemes.
- To work closely with the Head of Marketing and Fundraising and the Hospice Business Manager in setting an annual budget for the Fundraising, with the overall aim of achieving a fundraising ratio of 4:1 and demonstrating year on year growth in a net surplus for the fundraising team.
- To help develop and manage effective relationships with the Chairman and Trustees, instilling confidence and ensuring their expectations are met.
- To liaise with the Head Marketing and Fundraising and the Hospice Business Manager to ensure systems are in place to effectively monitor fundraising performance.
- To help ensure Charity databases are managed and maintained effectively.
- To help develop, lead and deliver major fundraising campaigns for the Charity, ensuring effective dynamic leadership of campaigns including public speaking at receptions.
- Proven recent experience in a successful fundraising team.
- Proven fundraising skills in at least one of the areas of major donor, regular giving or legacy fundraising, with the ability to achieve financial targets.
- Experience of developing and delivering fundraising strategies.
- Be aware of any additional fundraising techniques likely to be available to the Hospital and Hospice and possess the skills to implement them.
- Have a perceptive and innovative mind, coupled with the enthusiasm and energy to motivate the fundraising team to achieve its targets.
- Demonstrable experience of recruiting, managing, developing and motivating employees.
- Confidence in working with senior level stakeholders both internally and externally.
- To be confident in public speaking and willing to present at various functions.
- Excellent influencing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of working in a target led environment with proven ability to deliver against targets
- High standard of numeracy and budgeting skills.

- To participate in presenting and delivering teaching sessions for the clinical staff
- Registered Nurse – (Adult) with a valid NMC registration
- Diploma/degree in relevant subject
- Post registration qualification in stroke or acute Medicine or demonstrate relevant experience and competency in area of specialities
- 2 years post registration experience in one of the specialities of the ward
- Experience of Shift Management and Leading a team
- Evidence of ongoing training and commitment to development
