Required to work occasional hours on an ad-hoc basis.
While core hours are Monday – Saturday 8.00 – 4.00pm, the role may include evenings and weekend shifts as needed.
£12.21 per hour.
We are looking to strengthen our bank of Casual Retail Drivers who work hours as and when required covering shifts we are unable to fill with our permanent staff due to holidays and sickness.
You will contribute to fundraising for St Oswald’s Hospice by collecting and distributing stock and undertaking house clearance operations within the North East area. You will also assist with general maintenance duties within St Oswald’s retail outlets and at external events.
You must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be aged over 21 years for insurance purposes.
- Be able to work flexibly and have reasonable availability.
- Have experience of driving in a professional capacity.
- Excellent customer service skills and able to use own initiative.
- Be physically fit as the role demands repeated moving and handling of large heavy items.

St Oswald’s Hospice are looking for a new positive team member to join our wonderful charity in our Retail Logistics department. It is essential that you drive but we want to make it clear this job is way more than just driving goods around the North East. It is people focused, extremely physical and very varied.
The role as Logistics Crew Member means you are a vital link between stock donation and our shops. You will be a Hospice Champion to our Supporters and local community.
Could you be part of our welcoming team?
Do you have a positive attitude, and a willingness to ‘get stuck in’ and learn. Are you someone who likes to be busy and productive?
Lifting, shifting and sorting items to re-sell is a must. We hate waste at the Hospice (we are a charity!) so our donated items wherever possible, will be re-sold on by your retail colleagues through our shops and online. This helps us to raise vital money towards providing care and support for patients and families in your local community.
For this role, you will:
- Have a clean driving license, be able to drive Hospice vehicles up to 3.5 tonne and be aged 21 or over to meet our insurance requirements.
- Have held a full driving licence for at least 2 years.
- Have basic secondary education but no formal qualifications needed.
- Be able to use a PC and have some basic digital skills to look at and reply to email for example.
- Be physically able to undertake the full activities of the role.

As our Clinical Systems Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that our clinical systems are reliable, accessible and set up to support safe, high-quality and efficient patient care. You’ll work closely with teams across the hospice, helping us meet our clinical, operational and regulatory responsibilities with confidence.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Keep our clinical systems configured, maintained and optimised so they support exceptional patient care.
- Provide colleagues with friendly, inclusive training and easy-to-use guidance, helping everyone feel confident in using clinical systems.
- Ensure clinical data is accurate, secure and managed according to information governance and regulatory standards.
- Create clear documentation and standard operating procedures that promote safe, consistent system use.
- Work collaboratively to identify and deliver system improvements that enhance service quality across the hospice.
What You’ll Bring
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or a diploma-level qualification (essential).
- At least 2 years’ experience working with clinical systems, ideally including SystmOne.
- A positive, solution-focused approach and a commitment to supporting colleagues and improving patient care.
