We have vacancies for well-qualified and enthusiastic Graduates or GAP students to join our school as Assistant Tutors (Games, Boarding, Lesson support) to start in January 2026.
The Junior King’s School is a co-educational Day and Boarding School for pupils between the ages of 3-13. We offer a superb educational, boarding, extra-curricular and sporting programme for our pupils.
This role will involve,
- supporting children in class,
- responsibility for your own sporting team,
- assisting with boarding duties
The role is likely to suit Graduates/ GAP students seeking experience of working with children and a view of potentially embarking on a career in teaching.
We are looking for candidates who will be able to assist with the coaching of either boys’ sport (football, rugby, hockey & cricket), girls’ sport (hockey, netball, tennis & cricket) or assist with the coaching of rowing. In addition there is an expectation that you will provide support in a combination of English, Maths, Science and Humanities lessons.

The King’s School
Apprentice Gardener
The King’s School has an exciting opportunity for an apprentice gardener to join the team to ensure that our gardens and ornamental areas are developed and maintained to the highest possible standards.
The Job role is specifically to maintain and develop the school’s gardens and grounds to the highest standards of horticultural practice, this will include mowing, weeding, pruning, hedge cutting and leaf collection, the candidate will be expected to use hand and power tools. They will use fertilisers, composts and other products used in gardening. This is not an exhaustive list of tasks, and the successful candidate will undertake other tasks as instructed.
Rubbish bin and waste collection, exterior sweeping and help with general waste removal will be required as part of the role.
The successful applicant must have good communication skills and will need to be physical fit, a keen interest in gardening and working outdoors in all weathers.
Additional training will be available, and the applicant will be expected to undertake mandatory training as instructed.

FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT
The King's School requires a Food Service Assistant to work in the busy Catering department. The hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday 17:00-20:00 (term time only, 36 weeks per year)
The successful candidate will work in our busy dining hall ensuring a welcoming and efficient meal service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
