Working for us as a member of clergy in one of our rural, urban, or inner city parishes will be as varied and interesting as the people of Nottinghamshire you serve. The diocese is based in the heart of the East Midlands, close to the bustling city of Nottingham, and with easy access to London by train with good transport links up, down and across the country. You can be assured of regular pastoral and spiritual support from our Discipleship and Ministry Team, ensuring that your development needs are met in your Ministerial Development Review, with opportunities for peer support and personal growth.

We are seeking a new leader to progress our exciting and ambitious vision for ministry in the market town of Newark. Our vision is to grow disciples with compassion, courage and confidence based on our seven areas of focus and building on the growth that we have seen over the last 8 years. The recent completion of our building project will enable us to better reach out to our community with God’s love.
Newark is a market town of around 30,ooo people. It enjoys excellent transport links being a main rail stop on the East Coast mainline and with close proximity to the A1. The next Rector of St. Mary ’ s with St. Leonard’ s will be leading the churches into a new season of growth, with the opportunity to develop and shape the vision with the support of the existing volunteer leaders and paid staff.
St. Mary’s with St. Leonard’s is well placed to continue to develop as the resourcing parish for the town. The churches have flourishing congregations in both the traditional/choral and contemporary traditions. We are looking for a leader who will lead and grow the mission to the town and the worshipping communities across traditions, both contemporary and traditional. This is a Crown appointment.
If you have a vision for, commitment to and experience of evangelism and church growth across all ages and through varied traditions, we would love to hear from you.
