To supervise the operations of our in-house landscaping team on a day-to-day basis. To work alongside the Project-Coordinator in organising, planning and delivery of the programme of works. To ensure that the landscaping programme is completed to the required standards, on-time and meeting agreed targets. To assist the Project-Coordinator by supervising the landscaping staff, day-to-day ensuring they are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively. 3.5 To assist with daily briefs and de-briefs. The Association owns and manages 1820 houses throughout Inverclyde and provides services for over 1,200 homeowners in Inverclyde. We started developing in 1989 and since then, we have successfully completed over 60 house-building projects. The total investment value of these projects is presently estimated at £148M. The programme has catered for a variety of tenures. At 83%, social housing is the largest tenure. However, the programme has also provided accommodation for low-cost home ownership and outright sale on a shared equity basis. Work has involved refurbishment, conversion, new-build and demolition. Wider action involvement was also significant in the development of a community centre in the Branchton Social Inclusion Partnership area. In fact, the regeneration of previously designated Social Inclusion Partnership areas had been the main focus of the Associations development activities in recent years. Development of these areas placed much emphasis on sustainability, energy efficiency and community involvement and the work that has been carried out in Branchton, Wren Road and Grieve Road is a credit to the Association and our development partners. This has helped to provide sustainable energy efficient affordable homes for 240 tenants and sharing owners in these areas. Past achievements include the refurbishment of 57 closes in the West Station and Town Centre areas of Greenock. New-build which accounts for over 68% of the Associations total development programme has, over the years, provided a healthy mix of flats, and cottages. In addition, a number of special needs facilities have been provided and these have helped people with learning disabilities to live a healthy life in the local community rather than remain in hospital care. The Association also built a Woman's Aid Refuge and this has been a great asset for the community in helping to address domestic abuse issues. The last project completed by the Association was a 71 unit new-build development as part of a larger development of 198 homes with the Link Group. The units were handed over to Oak Tree as a turnkey project and all units at Bunston Grove have been well received by tenants. An exciting opportunity has arisen, to be part of our in-house landscaping and grounds maintenance team on a fixed-term basis, for the 2026 season. This role will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of the Association’s customers, by undertaking the full range of soft landscaping and grounds maintenance duties, as detailed within the job description and under the direction of the Project Co-ordinator.
Candidates must have strong practical experience in soft landscaping. The right candidate for this role will have good all-round communication skills, attention to detail, an organised and proactive approach to work, be a reliable team member, and focused on the delivery of excellent customer service.
Candidates should have a full clean driving licence and certificates including PA1 & PA6, as well as First Aid are preferred.
The Association is centrally located in Greenock, easily accessible from Glasgow and several other locations. In return, the Association provides excellent conditions of service. Page | 6 Interviews: Early March 2026 Page | 7 Key Dates OTHA History Oak Tree Housing Association Ltd was formed in April 2001 as a result of the merger of Bow Farm Housing Association and James Watt Housing Association. Victoria Housing Association then joined the new organisation at the end of June 2001. The three associations chose to come together for a variety of different reasons but primarily to create an organisation which was stronger than the sum of its parts and had an effective long-term future. Over the years, we have successfully completed over 60 house-building projects and now have 1960 properties worth in the region of £97m. Around 83% of these new homes were provided for social rent, with the remainder offered for low-cost home ownership and outright sale on a shared equity basis. We have also invested in making our neighbourhoods attractive places to live, and 82% of our tenants are satisfied with our approach. We have a track record of delivering highly effective and innovative services. We always strive to achieve a balance between quality and value for money, offering some of the lowest rents in Inverclyde. Nearly 80% of our tenants tell us they are satisfied with the value for money of their rent, and almost 90% of new tenants sustain their tenancy. We have high levels of operational efficiency as evidenced by relatively low re-let times, arrears and bad debt ratios. We have grown our services over the years to reflect the changing needs of our local community. This has included for example: purpose-built accommodation for a local Women’s Aid service; partnering to deliver a local employment and training projects; establishing the Inverclyde Common Housing Register; engaging specialist tenancy support services for our most vulnerable tenants; employing Energy Activators to deliver energy advice and resource efficiency tips to tenants; and providing our tenants with access to local, independent welfare rights, advice and support. In 2013, following significant financial and governance concerns at locally based Cloch Housing Association, we entered a formal partnership arrangement with Cloch and formed a group structure whereby Cloch became our subsidiary. In 2019, as part of our Group business planning process, we took the opportunity to review the effectiveness of the partnership and following a comprehensive option appraisal, both Management Committees decided unanimously that it was now the right time to dissolve the partnership and allow each organisation to pursue its own Page | 8 goals. This decision was later ratified in a ballot of Cloch’s tenants, and our group structure was dissolved at the end of 2020/21. As a result of our working relationship, we will continue to consider joint procurement projects, undertake joint research and deliver projects together, where these initiatives will result in improved efficiencies and better outcomes. Whilst latterly we developed a shared services model for Finance and IT services, this ended on 28th February 2022. IT services continue to be provided to OTHA from Cloch, via a Service Level Agreement.
