Part-time (up to 28 hours per week)
Salary: £28,000 per annum FTE
Fixed term contract until 31 December 2027
The Diocese of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich is looking for a warm, engaging and friendly person to join its Mission & Ministry team to assist in implementing and integrating the Growing Younger priority of the Diocesan vision and strategy for 0-5-year-olds and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and developing the support offered to toddler groups and their leads in estate communities across the Diocese with a particular focus on embedding Perfect Peace by supporting, resourcing and networking toddler group leaders and supporting the churches involved to develop their early years mission. Perfect Peace is a new resource that offers relaxation, reflection and reconnection, supporting families to develop positive mental health and grow in faith.
To this end, you’ll need proven experience of growing ministry with 0-5’s and their families, both with those already engaged with church communities and those currently outside the life of the church. Knowledge of child development theory and early years mental health issues is also required, as is a level of theological literacy and familiarity with theories of faith development including baptism, intergenerational ministry and child advocacy.
The ability and willingness to engage, inspire and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including volunteers, across the Diocese is vital to the success of this role. You’ll also need some experience of developing, adapting and delivering training material relevant to individuals’ needs and have an awareness of putting safeguarding measures into practise. No two days are the same and we would be pleased to hear from applicants who are passionate about making a difference and enjoy working in a small team.
