We are excited to be recruiting for a Policy and Practice officer to join our team in Wales.
This role is central to advancing our mission by amplifying the voices of unpaid carers, ensuring their experiences shape policy and practice, and strengthening the visibility and accessibility of carer support services across Wales. By embedding Carers Trust Wales in strategic conversations and promoting good practice, the postholder will help drive meaningful change for carers of people with dementia—many of whom are older, isolated, and under-recognised.
The work will contribute directly to the development of the Welsh Government's Dementia Strategy and ensure that carers' needs are reflected in service design and delivery.

Programme Lead Scotland (0158)
Contract: Permanent, full time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £43,000 - £46,000 per annum
Location: Anchored to the Glasgow office. Minimum expectation of being present at least one day a week in the office.
The Programme Lead for Scotland will be an entrepreneurial, driven and creative leader responsible for the development and delivery of key national programmes, ensuring that lived experience is at the heart. Working with the Director for Scotland and colleagues across Carers Trust, they will lead and line manage a small staff team to deliver ambitiously against programme objectives, creating a supportive team culture that promotes creativity, innovation and autonomy.
Experience
- Leading the development of an ambitious and impact focused programme pipeline
- Working within UK-wide or multi stakeholder structures maximising the benefit of a cross functional approach to programme development and delivery
- Programme monitoring and evaluation with a strong focus on demonstrating impact and creating opportunities for learning and growth
- Stewarding high-level relationships and the creation of new partnerships
- Leading and managing high performing teams

Head of External Affairs (Wales) (0159)
Contract: Permanent, full time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £49,000 - £52,000 per annum
Location: Anchored to the Cardiff office. Minimum expectation of being present at least one day a week in the office.
The Head of External Affairs is a key role within the Carers Trust Wales team responsible for developing and delivering a dynamic external affairs strategy to ensure the issues impacting on unpaid carers and the services they rely on are a priority for Welsh Government, the Senedd and other key statutory partners.
A high-profile role, our Head of External Affairs is a credible spokesperson for the organisation working alongside the media, third sector and other key stakeholders to raise awareness of, and generate support for, the issues impacting unpaid carers and the services they rely on.
Through this role you will be central to advancing our mission by increasing the profile and influence of the Carers Trust Network in Wales, campaigning to make carers' rights a reality through the delivery of Wales-based and UK wide campaigns, and the production of high-quality content for a range of audiences.
