What you'll be doing
As a Sales Executive (known internally as a Member and Customer Development Executive), you will play a key role in engaging with potential and existing members and customers, predominantly through outbound telephone calls.
You will identify member and customer needs, present suitable products and services, and close opportunities effectively.
Your responsibilities include meeting activity targets, ensuring Service Level Agreements are met, delivering a seamless onboarding experience, and acting as an advocate for members and customers.
Additionally, you will manage sensitive customer information accurately and represent the IET at relevant events.
Please note, this is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity.
What we hope you can bring to the role
We are, ideally, looking for someone with previous experience in a telephone sales role, or a sales role in general.
You should possess an excellent telephone manner, with clear written and verbal communication skills, strong organisation and time management abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
A passion for creating a positive and inclusive work environment is essential, as is the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Experience in handling sensitive information and a willingness to learn and use applicable support systems, including CRMs and databases, is also required.

- Proactively contact new and existing members and customers via the telephone.
- Achieve weekly and monthly activity targets.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements are met.
- Provide a seamless implementation and onboarding experience for new members and customers, ensuring they are fully aware of all IET products and services.
- Assess eligibility and assign appropriate membership categories when processing IET membership applications.
- Act as an advocate for members and customers within the IET, communicating their concerns, successes, and challenges to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to align customer experience initiatives with broader organisational objectives, conducting regular reviews to assess opportunities and challenges.
- Track personal lead performance metrics focusing on customer satisfaction, conversion rates, onboarding, retention, and upselling opportunities.
- Accurately process and manage sensitive customer information, including payment details for various products and services.
- Represent the IET at relevant events as required.

- Previous experience in a Customer Service or Sales role is essential. Experience within a Professional Membership Body or similar organisation is highly preferred.

As a Policy Officer (Digital Futures), you’ll play a vital role in helping the IET shape the future of technology and innovation through robust, evidence-led policy. Working closely with our Policy and Public Affairs Managers, you’ll contribute to the development of policy positions and consultation responses that support the IET’s strategic themes. What you'll be doing
As Public Affairs Manager, you’ll play a central role in strengthening the IET’s influence across government, Parliament and key policy-shaping bodies. You’ll lead the development and delivery of public affairs strategies that position the IET as a trusted advisor and authoritative voice on engineering, skills and technology, ensuring our expertise informs political debate and policy development in the UK and beyond.

What you'll be doing
As a Volunteer Training and Development Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring IET volunteers are fully supported, well-trained, and compliant throughout their journey with us. with a particular focus on those volunteers involved in Professional Registration and Fellowship. Your work will help ensure that volunteers have the right skills, knowledge and training in place to deliver high-quality outcomes and uphold the IET’s standards.
This is a varied and fast-paced role where organisation, accuracy and collaboration are essential. You’ll coordinate training activity from end to end, covering everything from scheduling sessions and tracking attendance, through to maintaining records and ensuring all mandatory requirements are met before volunteers are activated in role. Working closely with colleagues across Volunteer Services, Operations, and our international offices, you’ll act as a central point of coordination, ensuring data is accurate, reporting is robust, and volunteers feel informed and supported.
From maintaining CRM records to producing compliance reports and supporting revalidation activity, you’ll be at the heart of delivering a consistent, high-quality volunteer learning experience that enables the IET to meet its strategic and regulatory commitments.
