This role will take overall responsibility for ensuring that weekly and monthly payrolls processes are completed and that regulations are complied with. The role will also perform Finance Officer duties, as detailed in the job specifications.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, the ability to prioritise, meet strict deadlines and work under pressure, have a strong understanding of statutory requirements, and a keen eye for accuracy. The successful candidate will have advanced Excel skills, experience in accounts payable/receivable, purchase ledger and general reconciliation. Project overview: ‘Mythic Reinvention: Five Decades of Costume and Craft’ will explore the heritage of the RET, showcasing iconic costumes, oral histories, and behind-the-scenes narratives from the past five decades. The exhibition will be developed with community members from the theatre’s Elders and Young Company graduates who will create a performance piece in conversation with the exhibition.
The Exhibition Project Manager is a vital role, working across the theatre and externally with staff and freelancers. We are seeking a Freelance Evaluator to design and deliver an independent evaluation of a forthcoming project in line with Heritage Lottery Fund guidance and best practice.

The exhibition will be developed with community members from the theatre’s Elders and Young Company graduates who will create a performance piece in conversation with the exhibition.
This role will develop and deliver a detailed evaluation framework aligned with National Lottery Heritage Fund outcomes, working with RET staff to collect and analyse data throughout the project. The Royal Exchange is looking for an experienced, inspiring and collaborative theatre producer to join us as Director of Producing.
The Director of Producing will work closely with the Artistic and Executive Directors across all our produced and programmed work leading the producing and technical production teams, overseeing artistic and technical budgets and playing key role in developing co-producing and co-commissioning partnerships and in the ongoing exploitation of Royal Exchange’s produced work at home and on tour.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience delivering mid-to large-scale productions within a producing house environment. They will bring strong financial and logistical expertise, with a proven track record of setting, negotiating and managing substantial budgets, alongside in-depth knowledge of the theatrical canon, new work and musicals. They will have excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, the ability to manage complex workloads in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to championing diversity, supporting artists and freelancers, and nurturing emerging talent.

The Head of Technical will lead the technical and production teams in delivering the highest standards across the Royal Exchange Theatre’s artistic programme.
The role is responsible for planning, resourcing and delivering all technical and physical production elements across all theatre spaces, engagement activity and commercial events. Working closely with creative teams and senior colleagues, the Head of Technical will ensure production practices are innovative, safe, compliant and sustainable, and that the Theatre’s spaces remain inspiring environments for artistic work.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record in technical and production management within a fast-paced producing venue, with substantial experience of leading and motivating permanent, freelance and casual teams. They will bring excellent technical knowledge, sound financial and budget-management skills, and proven experience of production management, scheduling and interpreting technical drawings. Highly organised and solutions-focused, they will be able to manage multiple projects under pressure, demonstrate a thorough understanding of health and safety legislation, and show a clear commitment to inclusion, collaboration and environmentally responsible practice.

The Marketing & Content Manager will work closely with the Head of Marketing and colleagues across the organisation to develop and deliver the RET’s marketing and digital content strategies and campaigns.
They will be responsible for proactive, innovative idea generation that will deepen connections with existing audiences and grow and reach new audiences. They will have a broad understanding of marketing techniques and understand how to develop a balanced marketing mix which address the businesses KPIs. They will lead on developing and bringing our digital, social and content strategy to life, ensuring everything we do is cohesive, engaging and reflects our brand.
They will be well-informed of current trends and advances within arts and culture marketing and digital marketing practice. Data and evaluation will inform their planning processes and they will have a strong understanding of audience insight and its relationship to campaign planning. Working closely with the Head of Marketing, they will lead the team on campaign planning and delivery, manage budgets and develop exciting and inventive marketing campaigns and digital storytelling for the Company as a whole. They will work alongside our Marketing Officer and Content Producer to plan and manage content for social media, newsletters and our website, creating and scheduling compelling content that reflects our values and the quality of our work on and off the stage. They will manage both Marketing Officer and Content Producer.
